Camera won’t turn on
No matter what you do, you can't get your camera to turn on.
Battery is not charged
The battery may not have enough charge to turn on. Take the battery out of the camera and put it in the battery charger for a few hours. Put the battery back into the camera.
Battery compartment is dirty
Dirt or dust in the battery compartment may be preventing the battery from making a strong connection with the camera. Take out the battery and wipe the compartment with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. Put the battery back into the camera and try turning it on.
Battery needs to be replaced
If the other 2 solutions do not solve the problem, consider replacing the battery.
The camera lens is stuck open or closed
The camera lens will not close or open.
The batteries need to be charged or replaced
Check the battery indicator on your camera and then either recharge or replace them.
Retract the camera lens
To retract the camera lens first turn on your camera, then press the Playback Button on the back of your camera.
The camera is losing power quickly
The battery is depleting faster than normal
The battery is in a cold environment
Temperatures below 0 degrees C (32 degrees F) will cause the battery to deplete faster than normal. Consider moving the camera to a warmer environment.
The camera is being used extensively
Recording videos and using the flash put a lot of stress on the battery. Recharge the battery.
The battery needs to be replaced
Over time, the battery capacity will degrade. Consider replacing the battery.
The flash is not working
The flash on your camera is not seeming to work
If your camera's flash is not working you should try powering off the camera and removing the battery and memory card from it. After the battery has been removed for a few seconds reinsert both the memory card and battery. Turn on your camera and turn it to Auto Mode. Press the shutter button on your camera to take a picture.
The camera cannot capture photos
There is no space on the memory card
Delete unnecssary files or insert a new memory card.
The memory card is defective
The memory card may need to be formatted. This will erase all files currently on the memory card and improve performance. If this does not work, consider replacing the memory card.
The LCD display is not working properly
LCD Display is Dark
If the LCD display is very dark make sure sure the brightness in the camera's menu display is well adjusted. LCD displays can be dark due to low brightness so make sure the setting is correct in the camera's menu.
LCD Screen is White
If your camera's LCD display is all white. Make sure that the battery compartment is clean from dust and debris. Clean the battery compartment by removing the battery and memory card from the camera. Gently, clean the dust and debris. Re-install the battery and memory card, then restart.
If the LCD display is still all white after powering on, the LCD will need to be replaced.
LCD Screen Has Black Spots
If your camera's LCD display has black spots. Remove the camera's batteries and memory card. Re-install the batteries and take a picture without the memory card. If the LCD screen still displays black spots it may be due to a dirty lens. The lens will need cleaning.
To clean a dirty lens, power off the camera and remove the lens. Clean the lens with a soft damp cleaning cloth, with counter clockwise motions. Dry the lens with another gentle cloth. Re-install lens.
If the LCD still displays black spots after taking a picture then the LCD will need to be replaced.
The camera does not record sound
If the camera does not record sound while taking a video
The memory card may be defective or damaged
To test the sound recording function, record a small video on the cameras internal memory and speak directly into the microphone.
Then play back the video.
You may also want to try and see if the sound works when you play it back on your PC.
If the sound works when you play back the video using the internal memory you may need to replace the memory card.
If it doesn't relay any sound then your camera needs service.
