Unresponsive Touch Screen
When the touch screen fails to respond to the tap of your finger or a stylus.
System Lockup
Press and hold the power button until the device shuts off. Wait for a moment then press and hold the power button until the device is on.
Screen Protector Interfering with Touch Screen
Carefully remove the screen protector. Touch the screen again to see if the screen protector was interfering with the touch screen or not.
Damaged Touch Screen
The touch screen may be faulty and need of replacement. This includes replacing the front panel and the digitizer.
Malfunctioning Motherboard
If the touch screen continues to be unresponsive the Motherboard maybe faulty and in need of replacement.
Battery is Not Charging
The device will not charge when connected to a power outlet.
Bad Charger or Cable
Find another charger and cable that is known to work and see if it charges the battery. If the known good charger and cable works then the previous charger and cable may be defective. A new charger and cable should solve the problem.
Faulty Battery
The battery may be faulty and not drawing enough voltage for it to function normally. The best solution would be to replace the battery.
Bad Charge Port
If the device persists to not charge then the charging port may be damaged and needs replacement.
No Audio Output
No sound is coming from speakers or headphones.
Faulty Headphones or External Speakers
First Turn device off the device. Make sure the headphones are plugged ALL the way in (you should hear a click sound). Press the on/off button and the volume up button at the SAME TIME. Once the screen is on let the on/off button go, DO NOT let the volume up button go. Wait until the tablet has finished loading all settings up. Let volume up button go.
Software Issue
Something may be wrong with the software. This could be solved by a factory reset of the device. To factory reset the device go to Apps then tap Settings, when in settings tap Backup and Reset, then tap Factory Data Reset, and finally tap Reset Device.
Caution: Factory resetting the device will erase any apps, pictures, or files you saved on it.
Defective Internal Speakers
If after resetting the device the tablet's speakers still doesn't produce sound, the speakers may be defective. The speakers may need to be replaced.
Home Button Lagging
Instead of the home button being an instant response, it takes awhile for the action to occur.
Faulty Button
The home button component may have become defective and will need to be replaced.
Ultra Power Saving Mode is Enabled
Having Ultra Power Saving Mode Enabled limits the performance of the CPU, which may affect the responsiveness of the home button. To disable that mode, start on the Home Screen and tap Apps in the lower right corner, then tapSettings. Once in the Settings view locate and touch the Ultra Power Setting Mode on the left hand menu. In the top right corner toggle the switch so it becomes a grey box instead of a green box.
Foreign Object interfering with the Button
An object might have gotten stuck between the home button and the device. To get rid of the blockage use an isopropyl alcohol with cotton swabs on the outer button, if that fails then one may also disassemble the the tablet and manually remove the object.
Temporary System Data is Cluttered
Clearing the cache allows the system to access apps more quickly and efficiently. Press and hold Power, Home, and Volume down buttons together until the Samsung logo appears, then release the buttons. Make sure to tap the Volume button down till a Wipe Cache Partition appears and click yes. The process can take a few minutes, after that reboot the Tablet.
Tablet is Overheating
The device too hot to touch.
Tablet has Been On for Too Long
Turning the device off and letting it cool down could solve the problem. Power off the tablet by holding the power button until it shuts down. Keep the device off and let it cool for 20 minutes before you turn it back on.
Clean the Ports of Dust
Dirty ports can cause overheating. You can clean them by gently using a soft toothbrush to dislodge any debris.
Faulty Battery
If the device is still overheating the battery could be bad and in need of replacement. Once you supply your device with a new battery, your problem should be solved!
