Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 Plus Won't Power On.
In this troubleshooting guide, we will cover the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 Plus, which was released in October 2023, and can be identified by the model number SM-X210. After finishing this Troubleshooting guide, we hope that you have resolved any of your device's issues, many of which can be found in this guide. We suggest that you start at the beginning of the Troubleshooting Guide to ensure the issue is not a simple one before moving on to a complicated one.
Battery Discharged
Plug in and allow time for it to charge to ensure the device's battery isn't dead.
- Plug in and allow the device to charge in case of a dead battery.
Software Glitch
One of the simplest fixes for the device not powering on could be as simple as a frozen screen. To fix this, hold the power and volume down simultaneously for 10-20 seconds to force-restart it.
- Hold the power and volume down buttons at the same time for 10-20 seconds to restart the device.
Obstructed Charging Port
Sometimes, what may cause a device not to power on can be an obstruction in the charging port, such as dust or pocket lint.
- Check to make sure the charging port is free of debris.
- Allow a few minutes to pass for the device to charge, then attempt to power it on.
Once you are sure it is clear, attempt to charge the device. If this doesn't work, move on to the next step.
Faulty outlet
A bad outlet could be the cause of your device not powering on. Before moving on, take a few minutes to plug it into a different outlet and attempt to charge it to make sure the outlet is functional.
- Switch to a new outlet and wait 5 minutes to make sure the outlet is non-functional.
If, after a few minutes, the device doesn't power on, the issue may be a damaged charging port or cable.
Damaged USB-C Cable
After making sure the outlet is in order, the next thing to check is the cable. The cable may be corroded or frayed, causing it to be unable to charge the device. We recommend attempting to charge it with a new power cable.
- If available, try using the cable to charge another device to ensure its functionality.
- Inspect the cord for any signs of damage (frayed wires, missing pins, or corrosion).
- Try charging for a few minutes with a new USB-C cable.
If, after completing these steps, the device still isn't charging, the issue may be with the charging port.
Damaged charging port
One of the last few issues that may cause the device not to charge or power on could be an obstructed or damaged charging port.
- Inspect the charging port for any blockages (dust, pocket lint, etc)
- Shine a light into the charging port and check if any corrosion or damage can be seen. If damage is seen, replace it.
If, after all these steps, the device hasn't begun to charge, the charging port may need to be replaced. A Guide showing how to do this can be found here.
Faulty LCD
One of the more complicated reasons for your device not turning on could be that the LCD or screen of your device is faulty or damaged.
- Replace the LCD(screen)
A guide for replacing the screen can be found here. If, after inserting a new screen, the device still doesn't turn on, the issues may lie elsewhere.
Faulty Battery
If most of the previous issues have been ruled out, the problem may be with the damaged or faulty battery.
- Replace the battery
A Battery replacement guide can be found here.
Faulty Motherboard
If all other steps have been taken and the device is still not powering on, the motherboard may be at fault and need to be replaced.
- replace Motherboard
