The Phone won’t Turn On
You cannot get the phone to turn on.
The Battery is out of Place
Open the phone and check if the battery fits perfectly in its position. If not, adjust as necessary. If you are using a battery that is not made by Samsung, then there might be dimension errors and/or contact errors with the motherboard. Make sure the battery is right where it is supposed to be and that it is in full contact with the connectors. You might have to apply a light pressure to ensure that the battery is inserted completely in the phone’s battery compartment in order for all the gold pins to make contact with the phone itself. If they are not in contact, the phone will not receive any power.
Follow the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Battery Replacement Guide to insert a new battery.
The Battery is Dead
A phone consumes battery even when it is not being used, so the battery could have just died. First, try plugging the phone into a computer or to a wall to see if it charges when connected to either of these. If it does not charge, the battery might have run out of life. Replace the battery with a partially charged one and try to turn on the phone. If it doesn’t turn on, the battery might be unable to charge and needs to be replaced with a new one. A new battery can be found at Samsung or from a third party.
Follow the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Battery Replacement Guide to insert a new battery.
The Power Button is Failing
First, try plugging the phone into the charger or into a computer and let it charge for a while. Look at the phone screen for around 5 minutes to see if the phone is charging and then turns on by its own. If this happens, the power button may need to be fixed or replaced since the battery is not the problem and the charger and/or charging port are working normally.
Follow the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Power Button Replacement Guide to install a new power button.
There is a Faulty Display
If the phone appears to be intact and none of the solutions provided above work, there might a problem with the display. If the phone seems like it is working but nothing shows up on the screen, the display might have to be replaced.
Follow the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Display Assembly Replacement Guide to replace the screen and LCD.
The Phone has Water inside
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is said to be water resistant, but only to a certain extent. There are some parts of the phone that simply cannot get wet. First, check if the phone has water inside by removing the battery. If it has suffered water damage, dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth. Pat the microphone, earpiece, and speaker with the soft cloth to remove as much water as possible. Then, let the phone open to air-dry for a few hours before using.
If there is abundant water present (that is, water is leaking from the phone or you observe that the phone is 'flooded') in the phone do the following. Place the phone in a Ziploc bag along with an absorbent such as rice or oats and let it dry for over 24 hours. Then, try turning the phone on. If it works, let the phone dry a little longer. If it does not work, your phone may be damaged permanently and you will have to replace it.
The Volume Buttons do not Work
You have trouble changing the volume with the volume buttons.
The Buttons are out of the Frame
Make sure that the buttons appear to be aligned correctly with the frame of the phone. If they are not, adjust the buttons back into their correct position. If the buttons seem to be cracked/bent, replace them.
Follow the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Volume Buttons Replacement Guide to fix/replace volume buttons.
The Buttons’ Contact Connectors are out of Place
The contact connectors should be in their assigned position. Test the buttons by increasing and decreasing the volume on your phone. If only one or neither of the operations respond, and the buttons seem to be intact then you may assume that the buttons are not making contact. Proceed to open the phone and check if they are in place, adjust if necessary or replace.
Follow the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Volume Buttons Replacement Guide to fix/replace volume buttons.
The Buttons are Unresponsive
First, make sure to test the volume buttons with and without headphones plugged in. If the volume level changes when the headphones are not plugged in and doesn’t change when they are plugged in, then the buttons are not the issue. Instead, you might have a loose headphone jack. If they are unresponsive to either of the tests, then you may proceed to open the phone and fix the buttons.
Follow the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Volume Buttons Replacement Guide to fix/replace volume buttons.
The Screen does not Respond
Your phone has a black screen or the display works but does not respond to touch.
The Screen is Dirty
Tap your phone with a clean finger print to check if it responds. If it does not respond, take a microfiber cloth and wipe the screen to clear for any water or grease since these might interfere with the touchscreen.
The Phone Digitizer is Disconnected
Check for any physical outer damage of the device, if the screen has cracks or if it is bent. If it seems intact but the screen does not respond to touch, the phone digitizer might be disconnected. Since the digitizer panel is fused with the LCD screen, they have to be replaced together. Proceed to replace the display assembly.
Follow the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Display Assembly Replacement Guide to replace the screen and LCD.
There is a Broken Front Panel
Check if your phone is operating normally. Usually, the phone will still work but it’s front face looks shattered. The display assembly consists of a LCD and a digitizer panel. These components are fused together and have to be replaced together.
Follow the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Display Assembly Replacement Guide to replace the screen and LCD.
The Camera is Unresponsive
The camera application does not open, shuts down, or does not function.
The Application closes Unexpectedly
If a pop-up reads “Storage is Full” then proceed to clear up space by deleting unused apps and images or videos. If the problem still occurs, then Download a virus detection app and scan the phone for any viruses or malicious app(s) that may be causing the camera app to close. Then, restart your phone and attempt to access the camera. The camera app should open properly. If there is still failure, the last option would be to reset the phone to factory settings. Make sure to backup important information before you start.
An Error Message Appears: “Warning: Camera Failed”
Delete all junk files and unused apps. Go into “Settings”, select “Applications”, then scroll and click on “Camera.” You should see an option that says “Force Stop”, click, and restart your phone. If the camera is still unresponsive then put your phone in ‘safe mode’ and try to access the camera. If it does not work you will need to replace the camera and possibly some hardware.

The Camera/Camera Lens is Broken
Restart your phone. Check if the camera operates properly by focusing on objects, zooming in/out, and if it can capture the picture. All of these commands should work. If either of them fails, then the camera needs to be replaced. For a broken lens you must access the midframe of the phone and replace the lens.
Follow the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Front Camera Lens Replacement Guide to install a new front camera lens.
Follow the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Front Camera Lens Replacement Guide to install a new rear camera lens.
There is Water inside the Camera
Immediately turn off the phone, remove the battery, and use a vacuum to suck out as much water as possible or take a microfiber cloth and wipe the screen to clear for any water. Place the phone in a Ziploc bag along with an absorbent such as rice or oats and let it dry for over 24 hours. Then, turn the phone on and see if the resolution is better. If there is improvement, let the phone dry a little longer. If there is little to no improvement, then you must replace the camera.

The Battery Life is Poor
The battery life does not last as long as it is supposed to.
