If your SPOT X SPOTXB is having trouble turning off or on, follow this troubleshooting guide.
The Screen Is Frozen
- If the screen seems frozen and unresponsive, which applies to the audio as well, it is suggested that the system be rebooted. To reboot the system, it is recommended to push the turn on/off button for 10 seconds, which forces the device to restart.
The Device Needs To Be Reset
- The device might be experiencing malfunctioning and needs to be reset. So switch off the device for 10 seconds and turn it back on. If the malfunctioning continues, follow these instructions:
- Power Off: Turn off the device once again by holding the power button until the power menu appears, then select "Power Off."
- Remove the Battery: Remove the device’s battery. Wait for about 10 seconds before reinserting it.
- Press and Hold the Power Button: With the battery back in place, press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds.
- Release and Restart: Release the power button, then turn the device back on.
The Device Needs To Be Recharged.
- If the device needs to charge, it will give you a 20% warning. Any Micro-USB-B charger can be used to charge the device, but the charger that came with it is highly recommended. This will ensure it charges much faster.
- If the device has no power, it is recommended to let it charge for at least 15 minutes before powering it on. The power light status will power on when the device is correctly charged, and if it doesn’t power on, it is essential to adjust the cable, or there is likely a problem with the charger port.
- If the charger port is non-functioning, it may need to be replaced.
The Micro-USB-B Is Damaged
- This device only has one charger port and comes with a charger. It is micro-USB-B coded; therefore, only a micro-USB-B charger can power the device.
- If the charger port seems to not be working, utilize a flashlight to inspect the port for any types of blockages or wire collisions. If the problem persists, consider utilizing another charger.
