Device Won’t Turn Off
The device will not turn off when the power button is held.
Faulty Power Button
Try holding down the power button for three seconds. If the wand does not begin to cool down, the power button may need to be fixed or replaced, consult this guide for button replacement. Before opening up the wand remember to unplug the wand from the wall. The Power button may have become disconnected from the circuit, check here to find disassembly instructions for the wand. Once the wand is disassembled solder the wire back to the metal on the power button to reconnect the power button.
The temperature of the iron will not change when the (+) or (-) buttons are pressed.
Faulty Plus Temperature Button
If the wand is turned on, and the (+) button is pressed and the wand will not heat up more the wiring for the (+) button may be faulty. The connection from the wand’s main circuit to the (+) button might be disconnected, the device will have to be taken apart to check for faulty wiring. Please consult the disassembly guide to learn how to open up the wand. Once the wand is open look at the circuit board to see if the (+) button is connected. Look at the components on the circuit board to check if they are functioning. If any component on the board looks or smells like it is burning it will need to be replaced, instructions for fixing the circuit board can be found here.

Please consult the disassembly guide to learn how to open up the wand. Once the wand is open look at the circuit board to see if the (-) button is connected. Curling Wand Won't Heat Up
The iron will not get hot when plugged in and turned on.
Faulty power button
When the iron is plugged into the wall and you hold down the power button, the iron will not get hot. First unplug the iron, then push the reset button on the wall outlet. Wait 2 minutes. Replug the iron into the wall and try turning it on again. If the problem persists you should follow this disassembly guide to disassemble the iron and look at the main circuit board for issues. Look for a disconnected wires, burned parts of the board or otherwise improper looking areas. Then follow this guide for fixing or the power button.
Broken power cord
If absolutely nothing happens in the device when the device is plugged in (no lights turn on and the iron does not heat up), or when the iron is moved around the device turns on and off, the power cord may be faulty. Try unplugging the power cord from the wall and re-plugging it in. Closely examine the power cord to see if there is a spot that looks worn or damaged and do one (or both) of the following. [1] If there are no parts on the cord that look worn or broken, you should disassemble the device to check the connection of the power cord to the rest of the device. Refer to this disassembly guide. Near the bottom of the device, look for corrosion or damage of the connection between the cord and the receiver to the rest of the device. If you see problems here refer to this guide for replacing (or fixing) the power cord connection. [2] If there is one spot (or many) in the power cord that looks very worn or ruined, you may need to cut the power cord and reconnect it to fix it. Refer to this guide for fixing shorts or broken parts of the power cord.
Display Not Working
Nothing (or a limited part) will show up on the display when plugged in and turned on.
LED display is faulty
If the wand is powered on and the display is not working visit the screen replacement guide to find directions for replacing the screen. Check to see if connections in the circuit board are broken, if they are check the circuit guide to repair those connections. You will need to follow the instructions for opening up the wand. Once the wand is open and the screw holding the screen is removed you will be able to pop out the LED screen with your fingers and install a new screen. There is a plastic piece covering the screen, remove the screen from the cover by sliding it out with your fingers and replace with a functioning screen.

My wand keeps having an error message pop up. It's been going on for a while but when it first started I could just unplug it and plug it back in and it would work. I could also set it to a certain temp and it would work. Now none of those ideas work and it will heat up for about 2-3 minutes then "Err" pops up. Do you have any suggestions or will I just have to buy a whole new wand?

I’m having the exact same issue.

I’m also having that issue and mine is only 3 months old and I haven’t used it that much. Very frustrating!
Delores Bruner -
Is there a solution to this problem? My curling wand is reading the same ERR , and I am not sure how to fix this issue? Now I regret purchasing the insurance at Walmart when asked, because of this issue I will not purchase another Remington Product, it really makes since when the phrase is used “You Get What You Pay For!!” I will pay more for a better product, this is frustrating and with a lot of people having the same issue they should pull the product off the shelf’s instead of selling faulty products.
Aricka Toumbs -
Mine does that as well

Im having same problem. I ave researched and it appears this is a common issue with this product. I hope they are doing something for the consumers with this issues, if not this could be open for a recall, as it is obviously faulty. Please make sure you contact manufacturer and register your info in case of recall

It’s pretty bad that such a high end iron having issues, these are not no 40.00 cheap irons. My mom bought me a while ago the trio while I was doing chemo…she bought as get well soon, as an encouragement when I had to shave my head. when it came time to FINALLY use after a brain tumour too…it would not power on!I was so hurt to tell her that the very extravagant/ expensive gift that she cannot afford was a dud!I sent company email asking them if they wanted videos or pics to prove &fix it. I used it for my hair extensions a couple times, a long time ago, and had in box since. These should be able to take much more of abuse. Biggest thing is how will this company back their products? To me, in North America we are word of mouth, and we stand behind companies that stand behind their products.

My remington 1" flat iron won't heat up. The display lights up and it'll show the 3 bars blinking at it "heats up" but even when all the bars are present it has absolutely no heat.
I've tried different outlets, different temperatures and it makes no difference.
haley - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
My power button works, the device turns on and the display is shown, I can add and minus temperature, but the iron does not get hot. I returned one thinking it was faulty and purchased another one thinking it could work. I’ve followed all instructions and need some help, thank you.

I was using my keratin straightner, there was a pop sound and it stopped working. How can I fix it?
amna kazmi - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
Yep, my wife bought one brand new at Walmart, 70 dollars, discounted to 38, doesn't work, doesn't heat, pops err after 30 seconds no matter what you do. Bad thing is they knew this, put it on discount and sold it anyways.

Just got the wide shine therapy and it won’t turn off however long I hold the power button down for. Surely the only way to turn it off isn’t after the automatic no use for an hour?
