Razer Tartarus V2 Scroll Wheel Not Responding to Input
When the scroll wheel is pressed or scrolled it does not execute its set input.
Dust, Dirt, and Debris Collection
If the scroll wheel is not executing its set input, it may be due to dust or debris inhibiting its ability to turn. This can be easily fixed by cleaning it.
· Get as close to the wheel as possible and blow air with your mouth into the wheel without spitting in it.
· Can of compressed air can be used to dislodge and clear our debris and dirt.
· WD-40 can be added to the wheel mechanism, but the device needs to be opened(link) to apply it. First, remove the sticky tabs on the bottom of the keypad and remove the hidden screws. Make sure to keep the sticky tabs so you can attach them back at the end. Next, grab a small bottle cap and thin coffee straw and bend it inward creating a reduced u-shape opening. Once your straw is ready, spray some wD-40 onto the bottle cap and put the small opening of the straw in the liquid. Place your finger on the top opening of the straw and with the liquid now suctioned, place the straw under your wheel. Once ready, release the liquid onto the desired spot.
Damaged Scroll Wheel
If cleaning the wheel still does not work the scroll wheel itself may be damaged and needs to be replaced. This can be done by following the scroll wheel replacement guide.
