Device Won't Turn On
Yoga 14 is unable to turn on
Charge it
Your laptop may quite simply be out of battery. Plug in the charger and connect it to your laptop. Wait 20 minutes and then try turning it on again.
It Should be Charged and it Still Won't Turn On
As a last resort, you can use the Secret Power Button Code. This may sound crazy, but it's worked for some people!
- Disconnect your laptop from its charger and make sure it is powered off.
- Take out the battery.
- Push the power button 10 times at 1-second intervals.
- Push and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Put the battery back in by doing the opposite of #2.
- Push the power button to turn it on again.
Touchscreen Randomly Doesn't Work
The screen is not always responsive to touch, and sometimes it registers touches on its own even when I didn't tap the screen!
The Touchscreen isn't Calibrated
To calibrate the Touchscreen, follow these steps:
- On the Start screen, type touch. Then select Calibrate the Screen for Pen or Touch Input.
- In the Tablet PC Settings window, select the Calibrate button.
- Starting at the upper-left corner, use your finger or a stylus to tap each intersection, which displays two short black lines forming crosshairs.
- Select OK unless you think something went wrong. In that case, select Cancel.
Hardware Issue
There might be an internal problem with the touchscreen and the screen will need to be replaced.
Randomly Shuts Down
Turns off when it has power.
Old Battery
Rechargeable batteries can only last so long before degrading. Try switching out the old battery for a new one by following this guide

Buttons Stuck
The buttons are stuck. Letters keep repeating.
Dirt Build up
Using your keyboard frequently allows dirt, crumbs, and other particle to build up underneath the keyboard.
- Get a small brush, and use it to push the debris out of the keyboard.
- Remove the keys and clean the keypad.
- Use a can of compressed air to remove debris.
Software issue
If cleaning your keyboard does not help or your buttons keep typing letters once you let go of the key, it might be an issue with the software.
- Trying restarting your computer.
- If that does not work, check if you have all your the latest updated for your programs
Track Pad is not responsive
When you use the mouse pad the cursor does not move.
Touchpad Driver issue
The problem is the software for the touch pad. You will need to reset and uninstall the mouse driver. Here is a full guide on how to solve this issue.
Touchpad is defective
Touchpad malfunction is a common issue in this model. To fix this you can follow our guide on How to Replace a Trackpad.
Wireless Connectivity Issues
Device is unable to connect to or detect wireless networks.
Unable to detect wireless networks in range
- Click Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Internet.
- Click Connect To A Network. A list of wireless networks in range should appear.
Network adapters cannot be detected
- Click Start -> Device Manager.
- Locate Network Adapters.
- Right click on all network adapters one by one and select uninstall.
- Once all have been removed, right click and select Scan for Hardware Changes.
- The adapters will be rediscovered and when the drivers are loaded back, the devices will re-appear in Network Connections.
Lenovo Access Connection is blocking you from connecting
- Click Start and go to Control Panel.
- Under the programs tab click Uninstall Programs.
- Look for Thinkvantage Access Connections, right click it and select Uninstall.
An app is causing the problem
- Open the Start Menu and click on the Power button. Then hold down the Shift key and click restart. This will put you in Safe Mode.
- While in Safe Mode try to connect to the network.
- If the Wi-Fi connection works in safe mode, an installed app is most likely causing this issue.
- Uninstall recently downloaded apps one by one and disable your firewall. See if the connection works.

Lenove 14 won’t boot up. F1 error. Select F1 and get request to reset time and date. Go to BIOS menu and select Change Time/Date but can’t get to time or date fields. Click and select but nothing. Opened machine. Disconnected small battery and same result. Everything else is connected OK. Seems hopeless.

I have a similar problem with my lenovo laptop that the laptop battery was dead and the laptop hard shutdown. Then I tried to charge my laptop and it not started instead sometimes it flashes with lenovo logo or sometimes just show the lenovo logo. I then tried the steps mentioned above. Unplugged the charger, Removed the battery, press the power button 10 times in an interval of 1 sec, finally pressed the power button for odd 30 secs, attached the battery, pressed the power button, the laptop started showing the reboot icon along with lenovo logo and the laptop started, finally I plugged the charger again as the battery was not charged fully. Hope this will help others who see similar issue.

My Lenovo thinkpad 410i after updating Windows wouldn't boot up. I kept getting the two short bleeps followed by another short high pitched bleep and shut down. I tried everything I'd seen and nothing worked. Then I started working through the keys holding them down. Eventually the following led to life and a boot up. I pressed the power button and kept my finger down on the Esc and it started to boot up and windows began to slowly load, post update. This took a while. Just thought I'd share as it may work for you if nothing else does.

I could not start my Lenovo Yoga 700 4 years old. I disconnected from Ac, did not take out battery because it is not easy to do it, I pushed start button ten times at one second interval and for 30 seconds once more. It worked. So it worked without taking out the battery. Thank you

I did the secret start up trick and had high hopes. Everything lit up but then shut back down. Battery charging light is blinking and then went to white but still will not start up. Hold power button down for a few seconds and keyboard lights up but nothing on the screen. Can anyone help?
