If the screen is blank and you can't see images on your Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 Chromebook 14M868 but you can power it on, follow this troubleshooting guide for help.
Screen Brightness is Set Too Low
- Locate the buttons above the numbers 6 & 7 on your keyboard and increase the brightness until you see your screen.
Device Is Not Charged
- Charge your Chromebook up to 80% and open it to see if there are images on the screen.
Faulty Charging Adaptor
- Use a flashlight to check to see if the charging port has any large blockages. This guide for How to Clean an iPhone Lightning Port is a helpful resource for cleaning out the charging port of your Chromebook. Use a dust blower, brush, and isopropyl alcohol to remove the dirt. Between cleanings, reinspect the charging port for any remaining blockages or missed spots. Plug in the charger once it's clean to see if the charger works.
- Test your Chromebook with another compatible USB-C cable charger to see if the issue is the charger and replace it if the original charger is no longer working.
Software Glitch
- Perform a hard reset. A temporary glitch can cause a black screen. Turn off the Laptop > Press both the Refresh and Power buttons for 10 seconds > Release both and check if the display is on.
Faulty or Damaged Screen
- Try to connect to an external screen to see if the laptop was on, but the display was dead. If it is, you should check on the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 Chromebook 14M868 Display Assembly replacement guide.
