Device Won’t Turn On
The device appears to stop booting.
Display Too Dim
Sometimes if the brightness is too low and the lighting in the room is bright it may appear that the device is turned off. Try increasing the brightness of the device's screen using the media keys at the top or through the device's settings. Go to Settings/Display/Brightness.
Insufficient Power
Make sure that the device is charged. Plug in the device and wait for a bootup screen. It would be beneficial to test the charging cable beforehand or use multiple to make sure the problem is not with the cable.
Faulty Battery
If the device has been plugged in for an extended amount of time without the bootup screen showing it is possible that the battery can no longer hold a charge. In this case, replacing the battery would be the best option. A guide to replacing the battery is provided here.
Storage Component Damage
If the hard drive containing the operating system is damaged it may prevent the device from booting.
Damaged RAM
If the RAM in the device is not working properly or has been damaged the device will not be able to start. Check for any noticeable damage when opening the backplate of the device.
Keyboard Not Working
All the keys on your keyboard appear to be broken and won't respond to your input.
System Services Malfunctioning
Restart your Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14IGL7 through the restart option in the Start Menu. This will finalize any pending repairs and restart all systems services.
Outdated Keyboard Driver
A software update may come with an updated keyboard driver that can fix your problem. Right-click the Start Menu and select Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Click the Check for Update button.
Faulty Keyboard
If your keyboard fails to respond and you have tried the previous steps. You may need to try replacing the keyboard.
Wi-Fi Devices Won’t Connect
Your laptop won't connect to the internet.
Faulty Router
There is a chance your wireless router is not working. Try restarting it and see if other devices will connect to it.
No Network Connection
If the issue is not router related, try using Troubleshoot problems on the wireless icon to identify the issue.
Black Screen
Your device appears to be stuck on a black screen but the power button is on.
Graphics Card Driver Needs a Reset
Restart the graphics driver by pressing Win+Ctrl+Shift+B. This refreshes the display connection and could be all that's needed to fix the black screen.
Peripheral Interfering with Display
Restart your device without any peripherals connected (a mouse, USB hub, etc.). If your issue resolves, the attached peripheral was likely causing the screen not to turn on correctly.
Faulty Display
To test your display, connect your device to an external monitor with a VGA cable, or connect to a TV as an external display using an HDMI cable. Then restart your device.
The display should appear on the external monitor or TV. If not, you may need to press F4 on your keyboard.
Note: If the device displays on the external monitor, the LCD or internal LCD cable could be faulty.
No Audio Output
Your laptop isn't outputting any sound.
Muted Output
Make sure the mute button is not enabled.
Low Volume
Make sure your volume is not on turned off. Press the F3 key to increase your volume.
System Services Malfunctioning
Restart your laptop through the restart option in the Start Menu. This will finalize any pending repairs and restart all systems services.
Audio Outputting Elsewhere
Check the audio jack on the side of your laptop and make sure there is no device plugged in.
Alternatively, your audio may be outputting through a connected Bluetooth device. To check if this is the issue, right click the Start Menu and select Settings > Bluetooth & Devices. Disconnect any connected Bluetooth devices by clicking on the three dots on the top right of the device icon.
