No display
(Display will not illuminate, but I know my phone is on)
Phone needs to be reset
Some phone cases can cause issues with your display, so make sure to remove it before you begin troubleshooting. Make sure that your screen is not cracked, chipped, or damaged. If you've put any stickers over the screen or sensors, then peel them off. Make sure that your screen is clean. Power off your device (hold the power button if the screen is unresponsive) Then restart the phone. If the display is still not visible remove the battery (insert battery removal guide here). Hold down the power button for one minute to release stored energy inside the phone. Reinsert the battery and then attempt to power on.
Will not start
(The phone will not power on)
Check the charger
Connect the original charger to the phone, the one issued by the factory. Allow the phone to sit for a few minutes to see if it will charge and power up. If the phone does not power on, make sure the charger and charging port is not damaged. After checking for damages, clear for any debris from the phone charger port such as dirt or lint. If you complete these steps but the phone will not power on, then refer to our battery replacement guide for info on how to change the battery (include link here).
Will not charge
(The phone is plugged in, but it will not charge)
Check the charging cord
Make sure you are using an approved charging cord for your Kyocera DuraForce Pro. Check charging port on your phone to make sure it is clear of debris. Check the charging cord for damages such as rips or frays. If the cord is fully intact, then check the GFI power outlet to confirm the phone is receiving power. If you have completed these steps but the phone will not power on, then refer to our battery replacement guide for info on how to change the battery out (include link here).
No sound
(Cannot hear music, but I know my music is playing)
Check the phone for damages
Power off your device (hold the power button if the screen is unresponsive) Then restart the phone. Remove battery, hold down power button for a minute before re-inserting the battery. Power on. If music is not coming through the speakers, check for blockage in the speaker ports. This may be distorting the sound as it’s being produced. If music is not coming through a set of headphones, check the headphone jack. Plug in then unplug headphones into the auxiliary port. Any damage to the headphones or headphone cables may be causing the issue as well, so try another pair if possible. Be sure the phone is not connected to any Bluetooth enabled devices. Be sure the phone is not on any Silent mode/Do not Disturb mode. If nothing else works, hard resetting the phone may be the solution
Faulty screen
(Touch screen is not responding)
The phone may need to be re-calibrated
Power off your device (hold the power button if the screen is unresponsive) Then restart the phone. Remove battery, hold down power button for a minute before re-inserting the battery. Power on. Update the phone. If the phone is out of date then it may be experiencing lag when certain apps are being selected. The screen may need to be re-calibrated. You can check if this is capability is available to you in the phones settings. If not, then it may require factory attention. Determine what portion of the screen is affected. Following this link can assist with a list of steps: (insert link) If nothing else works, hard resetting the phone may be the solution.

Seriously, is English a second language for you? Because this article is obviously talking about a phone with a removable battery, which the DuraForce Pro does not have, so, THIS WIKI IS USELESS!
Unless of course you want to explain how you can do this, after the phone has been taken apart:
>Hold down the power button for one minute to release stored energy inside the phone.
Once the battery has been removed, along with the many little screws with tiny o-rings, there is not an assembled phone from which to release energy. The button is not connected to anything and probably fell off when moving the phone. Having replaced the battery on a DuraForce a few times, my advice to anyone reading this is :
Upgrade to a better phone with a removable battery such as the Sonim 8xp, that has a true removable battery, is supported by the OEM, and is truly rugged.

Any battery is removeable if you know what you’re doing.

Used desktop to find answers. Got a link to “ ifixit “ and opened the link being hopeful. Now disappointed, because the answer is irrelevant to this phone. Searched some more sites and found out that holding the power button and volume key at same time for 15 seconds will reboot the phone. Leaving this info here for others that came here to “ i fix it “ and couldn’t. Hope this helps.

Is there a way to know if the mother boared is going bad. My phone had the black screen of death, I could not power down, it would charge while in the screen of death but now that it is completely dead it won't charge. Before this final shutdown it would restart and reboot randomly and without warning, sometimes multiple times a day. I would like to know what I can do. Thank you

Thank You, yakbumfish1! You save my day! Holding the power and volume button for 15 seconds rebooted my phone! All is good. Stupid phone. I can drop it off a truck with no damage, but sitting it on a soft bed the screen shuts down! Going back to Samsung if this dies again.
