If your Kindle Paperwhite 12th Gen continues to turn two pages when you've only turned one page, follow this troubleshooting page for potential solutions.
Static Electricity
A buildup of static electricity can cause the screen to register two Clicks on the screen while you press only once. This can happen due to the environment or how you’re holding the tablet during use. If the air is very dry, static electricity is more common. Use a humidifier to increase moisture in the air. Also, reduce contact with certain surfaces like carpet or some types of clothing material. Setting your Kindle on a clean surface, free of paper may also help. You might also consider using a tablet case. Lastly, ensure none of your fingers are resting on the touchscreen of the tablet.
Outdated Software
There are often software updates that include fixes to the sensitivity of the screen. To fix this, Go to the home screen > Click on the Menu icon > Click on Settings > Click on the Menu icon again > Click on "Update Your Kindle," > Click OK to confirm the update.
Dirty Screen
Over time and usage, sometimes the screen on a Kindle may build up a layer of oil and grime that may affect its touchscreen functions. To fix this, gently clean the screen with a microfiber cloth and screen cleaner.
Damaged Screen
If all other issues have been ruled out, the screen may be damaged and a replacement screen is needed. In this case, follow the Kindle Paperwhite 12th Gen Screen Replacement guide.
