Huawei Ascend W1 Troubleshooting

No matter how many times you hit the power button your device will not turn on.

Make sure your battery has been charged. If it has not, the battery is possibly dead and needs charging. If the battery has been charged you may have a bad battery or it is not placed in the device correctly. Be sure you are pressing the correct button to turn on the device. The power button is located on top of the phone on the right hand side. Press and hold down on the button to turn on the device.

No matter how many outlets you have tried, your device just won’t charge.

It may be possible that the phone charger you are using is not the correct one. Make sure you are using the charger that is specifically made for the Huawei Ascend W1. If it is, make sure you have the charger connected to the phone properly.

Make sure the charger has not been damaged. If you can see any damage to the wire or the connector, it is likely you will have to replace the charger.

The outlet you are using may be bad. If you are using a power strip to plug in your charger make sure it is on (this is usually indicated by a light). Try another outlet or power strip. If you have tried multiple outlets then you might have a bad charger.

No audio is coming from phone or the audio is distorted.

If sound isn't coming from the phone, check the volume settings on the phone first. Next, make sure the phone is not set to mute. If both of these are at the correct setting the problem may be the speaker.

The phone works, but calls cannot be made.

Make sure your device is not in airplane mode.

Check the device has cellular reception. If the phone does not have reception, try moving outside or to a different room.

The phone is unresponsive when using the touch screen.

Before opening into the internal components of the phone, try holding down the power button to see if phone responds by either popping up a dialog box or powering down. If the phone respond, take the back cover off, remove and reinsert the battery, and try the power button again.

Try plugging in phone to see if it will charge. If it doesn't charge, remove the back cover plate and to inspect the battery and ensure there is a good connection. If nothing happens, you may have to replace it.

The cable connecting the digitizer to the logic board could be faulty or disconnected. The actual digitizer itself might be cracked or damaged. After inspecting the cable and digitizer for issues, the digitizer may need to be replaced.

The problem could be the main board itself. Also, the cable connecting the digitizer to the logic board could be faulty. If data is not being read or processed by the main board, check the cable. If the cable seems good then try replacing the main board.
