HP Chromebook 15a-nb0013dx Not Holding Charge

If the laptop is resting on a surface that can insulate heat, that being your lap, carpet or any cloth type material it can cause the laptop to overheat. The cycle count is how many times the battery has reached a full charge and typically a battery can last anywhere from 300-500 cycles before needing to be replaced.
