If you are experiencing diminished battery life or overheating, use this guide to replace your HP Chromebook 15a-nb001dx's battery.
The battery is in charge of powering all systems and the laptop as a whole. If you notice any problems with decreased battery performance, overheating, or swelling on the underside of the laptop, the main battery could be the issue.
When replacing the battery, make sure the device is powered off. Should there be excessive battery damage, be careful when removing. Since potential hazards are likely to be present.

Lay the device down so the lower case is facing up.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove four 6.6 mm screws that secure the lower case.

Insert an opening tool into the seam between the lower case and the chassis, near the hinge.

Pry around the entire perimeter of the lower case until it fully releases.

Remove the lower case.

Use your fingernails or two opening tools to "walk" the battery connector directly out of its socket.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove four 4.1 mm screws that secure the battery.

Unseat the speaker cable on the lower edge of the battery from their retaining hooks.

Lift the battery up and out of the chassis.

For optimal performance, after completing this guide, calibrate your newly installed battery.
