Dyson V8 Absolute Troubleshooting

my waste bin keeps opening whilst i am vacuuming emptying the contents on the floor

Lower portion of neck nearest roller is filling with dog hair and shutting unit off. Clean and see there is a wire in neck near where swivel connector is. It is causing clog but looks like it is part of unit.

My small brush bar will not turn freely. Seems like the mechanism is seized. Anyone else ever have this

Never again. This is strike two and I’m not going to allow for a third. Dyson..your products are expensive and complete junk. Burn me once shame on you.. burn me twice .. shame on me. Good bye

My Dyson V8 Animal is not even 1.5 years old and I have to but a new battery for it. I wont be buying another Dyson. This is extortionate, considering the machine cost near to £500.00

We cannot turn this vacuum off to save our lives. The only way to get it to STOP running is to block the cleaner head, which shuts it off. Getting returned to Costco today.

I have a v8 motorhead origin. The roller wouldn't spin. Dyson sent me a new roller head. It still doesn't spin. What could it be?

Received my Dyson V8 1/31/20 to my vacation home I used for one week and went home. Came back 3/13/20 my unit is fully charged with solid blue lights. When I tried to use it the motor pulsates. It is entirely clean. HELP brand new and I’m disappointed. This is the third one I’ve purchased this year for gifts and self and all three have problems WHY

This vacuums are not what the are stating. This is my second Dyson cordless. One was the V 6 and now the V8. Both are junk. First one I got a little wet and it quite and the new one I bought again is a V8 just won’t stay running. I cleaned all filter and took off all parts so It’s just the power head and the same starts and shots off in 5 sec and takes 20 sec to try to start again. This is it I’m going to purchase Shark. They don’t stand behind their products.

After cleaning my Dyson v8 animal vacuum, it was pulsating. Now that I think that is fixed, there is air coming from the post-filter, causing a loss of suction. Please advise.

We spent over $300.00 on our V8, three months in battery failed, now we’ve had for a year and now flashing red light on charger, unit does not work, Dyson is garbage, I’m throwing it away, total junk, shame on you Mr Dyson!

My Tyson V8 isn’t turning on at all, even though it’s fully charged. It shows the full battery light and the sign, showing if the filter isn’t completely connected, but nothing else. Help!

I agree with with Norma. we have bought these expensive hand held vacuums for our family's less than 2 years with nothing but problems. I just changed the battery on ours and it still wont hold a charge. We have problems with the flapper valve also

Dysphasia V8 comes on on its own when in docking station, even when power is off to station.

my V8 pulsates when in docking station as if trying to charge. it is not charging. Anyone got any recommendations ? I don’t want to order new battery unless i know it needs it. I have thoroughly cleaned the vacuum. THANK YOU

I have a clean machine, clean filters, and a new more powerful battery. When I use the lower suction it works ok, but when I put it on high it shuts off, I release the button, and it starts again when I push the button but shuts off every 2 or 3 seconds. It is NOT pulsating as described. What is wrong?

Battery failed after just 4 weeks! Animal V8. Bought March 2021 failed April 2021.

My V8 Animal will not change to Max power, even though I switch it to max. It stays in normal power mode at all times now. It stays in the charger and the battery indicator light says it’s fully charged. The brush head is all clean. The bin is empty. There are no clogs. It just won’t hit turbo anymore 🤷🏼‍♂️ What’s the diagnosis?

Regarding battery, my practise is NOT to keep it on charging all the time (unplug power) but only when the battery is empty or almost empty. Since we all know that batteries (like toothbrushes or mobile phones) would lose memory when charged too often before it is fully discharged. That way I could prolong the battery life.

I wonder how we can determine if the motor of the soft cleaning head is faulty when it won’t turn although everything there is clean?

My Dyson v8 is only two years old and my battery is completely dead i will never again buy such an expense Dyson just a rip off.

I was vacuuming and I went over a small rug and it pulled up the rug and had a smell so I shut it off. Now the beater bar will not turn. I ordered a new beater bar and it came in today and I plugged it in and it doesn’t work either. What else could it be?

My new Dyson v8 is brand new and what a disappointment. Charging issue, won’t work for more than 5 minutes and to be told that I should replace the battery is utter BS. I am trouble shooting the whole unit but so far, no luck. Never a Dyson again!

Maybe it is because you put the suction power on Max? If so, it won’t last more than 5 min then off and you have to wait some time before you could use it again. Let the suction power on 1 or 2 dots instead

motor won't stop running it new 1st use

My Dyson v8 origin does not push smoothly across my tiles. I had same problem 12 months ago and got a replacement head. What could be causing this problem? There are no blockages and I have an empty bin.

My dyson v8 absolute only runs for about 5 secs on Max before dropping from full charge (3 blue leds) to stopping. When reconnecting to the charger it indicates 2 blue lights and back to 3 within 5 minutes. There are no red lights at any time. I have cleaned all the filters and this happens even with no attachments (ie no friction orblickages). I have resorted to ysing in low power mode and while still effective only last for 2 to 3 minutes before pulsing. Help!

Battery charges but does not operate vacuum for more than 20 minutes. Recently purchased29/05/23 what is the problem.

My Dyson V8 does not hold a charge for more than 700 square feet. What can I do about that. It is quite new.
