Same issue here and I can't figure it out. Have tried to cartridges thinking the first was bad

I managed to fix ours. I pulled the tape along carefully making sure the black ribbon was being fed properly and not coming out of the feeder.

I'm another having the same problem. What's going on here as SO many shouldn't be suffering this way if the item worked properly surely

I am having the same issue as people above. The cartridge is installed and the roller is moving but not moving the tape to print. I tried rolling it myself, pushing the cartridge all the way down and trying to advance the tape and nothing. Help!

Hi i’m having issues trying to print on my dymo label maker. Have tried tightening cartridge, respooling and on/off buttons but each time I go to print it says label jam. Any advise? Anyone else with this issue?

I’ve just fixed mine, make sure it’s clicked in properly and that the white tape on the refill is slid into the guide before you put it in (there’s a little bit of plastic either side where it slides through to guide it) hope that makes sense :)

I had 2 issues and fixed both:

1. The tape wasn’t coming out. Solution: Pull the white tape until it is coming out of the top of the machine through the guide slot. That cleared up the jam.

2. Once that was solved, it would not print. It just pushed out blank white tape. The battery level was low so I changed batteries to Panasonic ones from the dollar store and some regular Duracell. It was still not printing and the battery level was still flashing which was strange since they were all new batteries. Solution: Basically, I changed out the batteries AGAIN with better quality batteries (expensive Duracell Quantum ones) and made sure they were all the same brand. Magically, that worked. Fresh, high quality, same-brand batteries got everything working again. It seems that the machine will not print if the battery level is too low or you use mixed batteries. (I don’t know why but hey it worked.)

After the cartridge got finished , I replaced it with a new one but the dymo won’t print . Tried another catridge, the problem remains.

Solution . Apply a little bit of force to pull the white label to protrude slightly out of the machine. Then try printing. This should solve the problem. I spent 2days trying before resolving the issue.

I too had the same problem of label not coming out (while the roller seem to spin). I tried changing two different new cartridges but still the problem persisted. After trying few things, I landed on this website and found the solution given by Jessie and Mustapha to work. I just pulled the label little way out and then tried printing and it worked. Hope it continues to work!

Replacing the batteries is what worked for me. Tape came out, but nothing was printed on it. Replaced all the batteries - voila, everything worked fine.

I had the issue where the tape would not feed. I tried all the items above regarding that issue and finally found that the tape had slid back a tiny bit and was curling in toward the cartridge and hitting a lip on the cartridge so it couldn’t feed. I rolled the tape back just a little bit, lifted the white part of the tape up over the lip so that it fit between the 2 plastic ears and it works again.

I am having an issue where it is printing an excessive amount of tape at the end for no reason. Its a waste of tape and nothing I have done has fixed it. please help!!

I just opened my Dymo LetraTag label maker an hour ago and went through all instructions. The cutter button was extremely hard to depress and would get stuck. The tape was not cut cleanly either. After taking the tape cover off, I depressed the button several times but that didn’t really help. Eventually I put a little bit of WD-40 on the cutting blade and pushed the button many times until it got easier. It now cuts easily and doesn’t make the noise it made before.

I’ve had this problem multiple times. The only solution i seem to find is pulling the tape out about a foot and a half and cutting it off. It always seems the tape is too tight in the cartridge and has trouble feeding the tape out.

Changed the batteries, changed the contrast and it still prints a faded line through the word.

No solution yet, but a possible explanation. I found an amazing tape jam. I pulled it out for a foot and a half which revealed tape had been folded like an accordion - which explained why it felt bumpy as I tugged on it. Each corner of the fold was a bump, or more resistance. Even after I pulled out that mess, the device still doesn’t work, with a pictogram indicating low-battery. However, the batteries are fresh and test out at full-charge. My guess is that the motor is pulling against more resistance in the tape spool. If the tape won’t turn freely, I can’t see how the device can run.

I cannot get mines to come on

Check the little wheel by the printhead and make sure that the black ink ribbon isnt wrapped round it. if it is get a tiny knife and cut it off.

The roller was turning but not advancing. I blew some compressed air in the machinery and popped the batteries out and back in. That did the trick.

My Dymo D1 does not print any visible letters. It pushes the tape out blank

Is there not ink involved or can the cartridge be old. We last used it before lockdown began?

This label maker SUCKS. It never prints. I’ve tried resetting it, changing the cartridge, manually feeding the tape through it, changed the batteries. All without any change. This label maker was a complete and total waste of money.

I have the DYMO LetraTag printer and it doesn’t print at all. I have watched the videos on how to clean it which I did and it still doesn’t work. HELP!

The motor runs but it does not advance the tape nor prints anything

Mine had wrapped the black tape around the roller. Check that the roller doesn’t have the ribbon from the last cartridge wrapped around it, if it is the tape will slip and not move forward.

hi I have Dymo 160 and am facing label jarm message i have try the solution but it didn’t work

I have a Dymo 160, brand new, first time using it. The print is too high on the 1/4” (quarter inch) label tape such that the top of the letters is cut off (ie: on the very edge of the label). Using vertical lettering, the letters are on the right edge of the tape, using horizontal (normal) lettering, the letters are on the top edge of the tape. I do not have any hidden row (from hitting the enter/return key). If I try to hit the enter/return key I get an error message “Too many lines” so it’s not that.

Is there a “vertical alignment” setting for the 160? How do I get the text to center on the label?

Mine just wont print at all makes all the right noises tape comes out but theres nothing on it

I have changed batteries and added new tape. I cannot get the machine to feed the label. It makes all the noise of printing but nothing feeds thru. I have reloaded several times with no luck. Please advise what to do to correct. Thank you.

The bottom half of all my printing in the old school hand held Dymo label maker, are blank. Top half of all labels only. WTHeckTechs???

changed cartridge and it says insert cartridge - I have reinserted it a number of times

Mine works fine but no letters appear even it prints on the type. Batteries are not old

What is the problem do you think? I put in a brand new cartridge and same thing keeps happening! It used to work great!?

Hello, all of sudden my dymo label maker 160 won't stop feeding the labels! HELP

Check the rubber feed roller carefully. The black ribbon may have wrapped around it which is smooth and not allowing the rubber roller to grip the tape and pull it through.

Simple fix for me was change the batteries. Even though it had enough juice to dispense the label. Not enough juice to PRINT on the dispense label. Crazy

So I have replaced the batteries, I went and bought actual dymo cartridges and it still won’t print. It keeps saying insert cartridge when there is a cartridge it worst of all is it just randomly advances the cartridge wasting my tape! As soon as you put the cartridge in the little wheel starts spinning and advancing the tape even if the power is off. I’ve had to start removing the cartridge before I finish because if I leave it in I wake up to the whole cartridge advanced and wasted with no way to roll it back. Help!

Check the rubber roller very carefully. Sometime the tape wraps around the roller then tears off. The tape is black so can easily be missed. This causes the cartridge not to feed because the tape not being gripped by the rubber roller due to the tape wrap.

Hello, I discovered that the flimsy black backing on the tape was wound round the print roller. It is the white roller on the left of the tape. I hope this helps others to sort theirs, I had to get tweezers to gently pull it out. After that, it worked perfectly!
