Delphi MyFi XM2GO won't turn on

No matter what you do, you can't get your Delphi MyFi XM2GO to turn on.

Drained/Bad Battery

First, plug your AC/DC adapter into the 2.5mm jack at the bottom of the device. Let the device sit for at least 3 hours to fully charge. After leaving the device charging for several hours, press and hold the power button located on the top right of the device.

Replacement batteries may be purchased from Delphi. Do not use batteries that are not approved for use by Delphi.

Key Lock On

If the Key-Lock feature is engaged, no user input will be received from the user and, therefore, the device will not receive the command from the power button to turn on.

The Key-Lock feature must be disengaged to receive input.

See page 7 of Delphi XM2GO User Manual to locate the Key-Lock and toggle the key.

Performing Hard Reset

The device that is unresponsive may need a hard reset. This hard reset cycles the power from the battery and resets the internal memory.

Read further instructions in this iFixit guide for performing a hard reset:

Performing Delphi MyFi XM2GO Hard Reset

Bad Charger

The included charger does not work. Try another charger with the same plug and similar specifications (voltage and amperage). Or purchase another charger from the manufactuerer.

A bad charger might be identified by the AC/DC unit over-heating or making unfamiliar chipring sounds.

Bad Display

It is possible that it appears nothing is happening because the display is not showing information.

The display may be bad, the backlight of the display has burned out, or the screen has been physically damaged. Some damage to the screen may be caused by direct exposure to sunlight in an automobile.

If the display has been damaged, it is possible to replace the screen with further instructions in this iFixit guide.

To remove LCD screen:

Bad Logic Board

If the device still will not turn on the problem most likely lies in the logic board. It can either be sent in to Delphi for RMA or replaced by the user as mentioned further on in this guide:

Delphi MyFi XM2GO Motherboard Replacement

Delphi XM2GO is ON but Unresponsive

"No matter what key you press, the device will not respond appropriately."

Key Lock ON

If the Key-Lock feature is engaged, no user input will be received from the user.

The Key-Lock feature must be disengaged to receive input.

See page 7 of Delphi XM2GO User Manual to locate the Key-Lock and toggle the key.

Cycle Power

Cycling the power is performed by holding down the power button on the top right of the device, waiting for the deivce to shut down, and pressing the power button again once it's shut down.

Cylcing power is also performed by powering down the device (if possible), removing the battery, reinserting the battery, and powering the device on again.

To remove battery:

Performing Soft Reset

If the device is unresponsive, it may need a soft reset. This soft reset is performed in software to stop all tasks and cycle the power on the device without a hard reset.

Performing Hard Reset

The device that is unresponsive may need a hard reset. This hard reset cycles the power from the battery and resets the internal memory.

No Sound from Headphone Jack

"If no sound is coming from the headphone jack."

Checking Muting

There may be no sound coming from the device out of the headphone jack if the device is set to MUTE. Toggling MUTE on the device is performed by looking at the Delphi XM2GO User Manual on page 7.

Checking Volume

The device might be unumted, but the volume rocker on the device might be at its lowest setting. Rotate the volume rocker, located on the right, to adjust the volume accordingly.

Checking Headphones

A common issue is that the 3.5mm jack from the user's headphones is not plugged in fully. A simple check of unplugging it and plugging it back in so that it clicks twice may be used to check the headphone jack on the device.

If the jack is plugged in fully and sound is still not coming from the device, then the user's headphones may be at fault. Try switching out with a known-good set of headphones.

If the issue still is not resolved, try placing the device in a speaker dock (Separate Accessory).

Checking Antenna Connectors

If the device does not connect to the XM Satellite service, the internal antenna connections may be disrupted.

Hello, recently MYFI Delphi XM2Go seems to have a bad connection underneath the radio. It will work if I hold it in the dock it will charge, but if I leave it in the charger it will not charge. I have reset the radio and changed the charger and tried in the car dock, same result. I've replaced the battery with a Delphi new battery. I'm sure it's the connection on the radio. If I wiggle it, it will charge and not charge.

Is there a trick or a place to have this fixed?

Thank you.

Any suggestions on why my Delphi unit will not tune into station 26?
