If you press the power button or slide open the keyboard on your Dell Venue Pro, and the device does not power on or show any signs of life, follow these steps to identify and fix the issue.
Battery Discharged
Verify that the device is receiving power and charging the battery.
- If the device is off, look for a battery icon showing the charge level.
- When active, the battery icon should show a charging symbol.
- A deeply discharged battery may take time before it can power the device.
- Connect the charger and do not try to turn it on immediately.
- Leave it charging for 45–60 minutes.
- After one hour, attempt to power it on normally.
- If still unresponsive, hold the power button for 10–15 seconds to reset power delivery.
- If the problem continues, replace the battery using the Dell Venue Pro Battery Replacement Guide.
Damaged Charging Port or Cable
A faulty cable or port may prevent power from reaching the battery.
- Inspect the cable for frays or bent pins.
- Test the charger on another device.
- Clean the port with compressed air or a soft brush.
Stuck or Broken Power Button
If the button feels jammed or disconnected, the device won’t power on.
- Press the power button several times to check for a firm click.
- Clean debris around the button.
- If it remains stuck, replace the button using the Power/Volume Button Replacement Guide.
Internal Hardware Failure
If all other steps fail:
- Connect the Venue Pro to a computer via USB.
- If it is not recognized, the motherboard may be damaged.
- Seek professional repair or motherboard replacement.
