Audio Is Distorted
The speaker sound quality is muffled or fuzzy.
Broken/Damaged Speaker
If the audio coming out of the Bose SoundTouch 10's speaker is distorted or comes out muffled, the inner speaker may be damaged or faulty. It may need to be replaced.
Speaker Won't Charge While Connected
The speaker is connected to power, but charges slowly or not at all.
Broken Charging Port
If your Bose SoundTouch 10 is not charging when it is plugged into an electrical outlet, inspect the charging cable to ensure that it is the charging port that is damaged and not the cable. If the problem continues, the charging port may be damaged and will need to be replaced.
Dirty Charging Port
If your Bose SoundTouch 10 is not charging when it is plugged into an electrical outlet, inspect the speaker's charging port for dust/dirt that may be trapped inside. Use a toothpick or something of similar size to remove any debris.
Cannot play music via Bluetooth
The speaker is not playing music due to no Bluetooth connection.
Restart your device
If the speaker is not connecting to the device via Bluetooth the problem may be caused from the device not connecting to the speaker. Simply, restart the phone or computer normally and try to reconnect to the speaker.
Interference with other devices
If there are other devices such as Wi-Fi printers, cordless phones, or another devices that communicate on the same 2.4 GHz frequency it could cause it to interfere with the connection. If there is a device, either remove it in the area of speaker or unplug the device.
Clearing the pairing list
When you connect a device to the speaker the connection is stored into the system's pairing list. To clear the list of previous-paired devices, press and hold the AUX button for about 10 seconds until the Bluetooth indicator double-blinks white. This will allow the speaker to be paired up again with the same device.
Broken/Defective Motherboard
If your Bose SoundTouch 10 does not connect wirelessly to your device, or the wireless connection is often lost, the motherboard may be damaged or defective and will need to be replaced.
Trouble with Stereo Pairing
Unable to pair speaker to Stereo.
Interference
If your Bose SoundTouch 10 is not connecting with the stereo, it's possible your router may be getting interference which is causing the signal strength to drop to your speakers. Do you have any other electronic devices nearby that could be causing interference? Try unplugging these to see if it helps.
Low signal
If your Bose SoundTouch 10 is not connecting with the stereo, please make sure the SoundTouch systems are within range of the router. The reason it could not be connecting is a low signal. If possible try to limit the amount of other WIFI devices around the speakers. Keeping other WIFI more than 3 ft away will usually increase the reliability of the speakers. If this does not work, reset all devices involved (SoundTouch 10 speakers, router, range extenders/repeaters) by unplugging them from power for one minute.
Device Randomly Turning Off/On
Trouble with speaker turning off/on.
Turning Off
If your Bose SoundTouch10 stereo is randomly turning off, there could be an issue with the battery inside the system. If this is the case, there are a few steps you can take to fix it. Make sure the device is fully charged before using it or else it could turn off randomly quicker than usual. If that doesn't work, completely reset the device and turn it back on. If the device says it is fully charged and it is still turning off quicker than usual, you may have a battery issue, and you should purchase a new battery and replace the old one in the speaker.
Turning On
If your Bose SoundTouch10 is randomly turning on then please make sure that the device is completely shut off. If the device is put on some type of "sleep mode" or you forgot to turn it off, then there is a good chance it will continue to play music even if you do not tell it to. So make sure the device is completely shut off!

I hate these speakers so much - you need a ph.d. to get them connected. They’re a mess, it’s not user friendly, and I give up.

This has been a pain in the a#@ speaker. Every morning I have to unplug it and wait 30 seconds before I can reconnect. For $200 I would have expected better. However, the sound is amazing. If I didnt have that minor inconvenience every morning it would be a great speaker. Not having a battery is also a negative. I grabbed it quickly and didnt realize it was “wireless” meaning only the blutooth connection.

Connected to my computer by blue-tooth, the problem is that it keeps picking up System Notification sounds (like when I press the Caps Lock tab) despite the fact that I have my computer set to not play sounds. How is that even possible? My headphones don’t have this issue. How do I stop that??

Sound tech 10 speakers keep stopping after every song. Sometimes in the middle of the song. Many times I can’t restart the music. Today the system didn’t want to start when I used Living Room group as a lead. I switched to Kitchen and it started. Overall sound is very good but the controls are plain awful. I would never buy Bose SoundTouch 10 again

Guys I don’t know who this may help but I FINALLY figured out how to fix my speaker on my own. I have the Bose Sound Touch 10 Speaker and the Wifi indicator was NOT turning amber no matter how long I held the 2 and VOLUME DOWN button at the same time! Something finally told me to try clicking other numbers and the down volume. Try THIS:
1. Unplug the power cord from the device and wait 30 seconds to recconect.
2. Wait for all the white buttons to all finish flashing then click the POWER button.
3. Then click the number 1 to have the Sound Touch Icon glow amber.
4. Hold down the #1 AND VOLUME DOWN BUTTON at the same time (ALL THE white buttons light up!) Keep holding til it begins to scan.
5. Then I tried press the #2 and VOLUME DOWN BUTTON again and BOOM! The dang button turned amber!
For some of you having issues, your speaker may be still trying to connect to an old Wifi Connection, Router, or Password! I thought I may have to buy a replacement but no! Best of luck to you all and I hope this helps! :)

hey Cherry, any idea with the following issue:
I have a bose soundtouch 10, all works in regards to connectivity(able to connect to wifi/bluetooth) as soon as I play something, I hear a slight popping sound emanating from the speaker and after a few seconds the soundtouch indicator goes orange and the unit is thereafter non-responsive until I physically power it off/on. I think it may be related to software but I cannot find any older update.stu files online.
I have reset it a number of times.

My BOSE SOUNDTOUCH 10 is connected to bluetooth from my iPhone. There is no sound. I watched before from Youtube the remedy, pushing the Start and Bluetooth button simultaneously, it worked. Now, I am trying the same remedy, but still not fixed. I am just using it as an auxilliary speaker. Advise please how to fix

Are you trying to connect to Wifi or is there a sound issue? What are you trying to do.
Cherry Davis -
This is the most expensive doorstop I’ve ever had. First couple years I could hardly get it to work at all. Constantly resetting it and reconnecting it because it would lose the internet connection or just completely reset, or not recognize device. Then an update came out and it worked! For a while. Now it turns on and off every few minutes while I’m trying to listen. This just sucks your soul after a while.
