Charged my unit fully. Went to use and turned off after about 30 seconds and continues to do so. Light will turn red.

Me 2! First, the charger died. I’m thinking it is a short circuit. I’m going to take it apart.

This is exactly what mine is doing . There has to be like a recall or something. Cause I bought another one and it is doing the exact same thing

I'm having the same issue. Have you found a solution yet?
Becky Thorstenson -
Read my comments about the charging chord. I would bet your unit is never fully charged because of that problem. The charging chord is most likely not being allowed to seat properly because of a design flaw. Make the charging hole larger and throw the little sliding window away. Then the unit will charge fully and stop turning off......That's my bet.....it fixed mine.

I’m having the same problem! Has anyone found a solution? Bissell customer service is telling me they won’t replace it and I have to buy a new one.

I’m having the same issue. Was working one day and now 3 red lights blink and will only turn on for about 10 seconds.

It is most likely the charging chord is not making good contact inside the unit. That was the problem on mine. I took the little latch off and drilled the hole larger for the chord to make contact. Design flaw. Now it can fully charge. May have to take it apart to make the hole bigger, or perhaps you can do it without taking it apart. Bissell will not tell you this simple fix.

Hello - I have the same issue. It actually worked well for a few months and not it looks like it charged. and then it turns off after 20 seconds of vacuming.

I ended up having to buy a new vac. Bissell won’t do anything because they discontinued it. I never found a way to change out the ion battery. I went with a corded vac this time because I have seen similar issues with other cordless ones too. Sorry you also are dealing with this!

Recently I noticed that my Bissell Pet Hair Eraser was turning itself off. I had to keep the on button pressed or re-start it frequently. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal, but now it won’t turn off!

Hi, try cleaning out the brush. The motor is not that strong so if it gets clogged with hair it will stop. there is a red tab in the bottom slide it open and pull out the brush - clean it - place the brush back in and click it closed. Making sure it fits properly… there is a specific way it goes back in. That should solve the issue.
sandra_boesch - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
I’ve had the same issue with it turning on and shutting off a few seconds later. I read a comment in this string to clean out the brush. Mine did not look that tangled up but low and behold cleaning the brush did the trick. It now runs beautifully again.

Same issues as above…turns off often 10 seconds (even though it’s fully charged). I tried taking it apart and cleaning it, but it did not help. Any solutions?
Charlie Daehler - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
Pet stain eraser not charging? The problem may be the design flaw in the unit. On model 2054, the small window that slides out of the way when you input the charging chord would not allow my unit to charge. I removed that small tab and the spring behind it. Then I tried to charge it again. Still no luck. Then I took a drill bit a litter larger than the charging hole in the handle. After I made that hole larger and discarded the small sliding latch and spring the charging chord could seat well enough to charge the unit. You might try this also. I took the handle off the unit completely and found it would charge with the handle off. That is how I knew the over engineered sliding window was the problem.

Patty Matone - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
Mine started to turn off a few seconds after switching it on, despite being fully charged. In my case, it turned out to be because the brush was totally clogged (a few other people in the comments had the same experience). Once I removed the brush, everything ran smoothly

Just bought the Bissell pet hair eraser lithium ion hand vacuum. Charged it fully . Light when charging on mine is GREEN not RED. Well, today I was sitting in my living room watching tv & heard a strange noise coming from my kitchen. It was my hand vacuum that had turned itself ON & RUNNING! It is plugged into an outlet keeping it charged. I tried to turn it off several times & unplugged it & still kept running. Finally I got it turned off. The Power Button wasn't having any effect on turning it off. I have no idea what in the world is going on with it. I just got it & only used it once. Anyone else have this happen???? I wouldn't mind if it would clean on its own LOL!
