Beats Solo3 Troubleshooting

The device is not showing any signs of being able to connect to an external device such as a mobile phone or laptop.

The issue may not be with the Beat Solo3 and may be with the device. Your device may not be paired with the Bluetooth headset. Ensure Bluetooth is active on your device. Go to your device's Bluetooth settings, and make sure you have paired your Beats Solo3 to your device.

Connect the headphones to the charger, and charge the headphones to full capacity. Apple states that it should take approximately 2 hours to fully charge. Once charged, power on and try to reconnect again. If the problem persists and it is clear that the battery adapter is not faulty, the battery of the device may be the issue. If the headphones are fully charged and the issue still persists, it is likely that there is an issue with the Bluetooth connector/adapter on your audio board. You can find a replacement guide for the audio board here.

The device is not projecting clear audio making it difficult to hear

Turn off the headphones and leave them off for ten seconds, and then turn them back on.

Check to see if the audio coming from the source device is not distorted by connecting to an alternate Bluetooth speaker. If the actual audio is distorted on the Solo3 headset, it is possible that there is damage to the speakers. If the issue continues, you may need to replace the speakers. If the headphones are fully charged, then there could be damage to the Bluetooth connector/adapter. This can result in distorted audio. You can find a replacement guide here.

When the device is fully charged audio-only projects from the left side speaker

Make sure your headphones are powered on and you are at a close proximity to the device. Beat Solo3 headphones may have a Bluetooth range of ~400 feet, but to ensure a connection try to have your device close by.

If the battery is working properly and Bluetooth seems to be connecting correctly, it is likely that there has been some internal damage to the speaker.

It is possible that the internal audio board has been damaged resulting in the right side speaker no longer functioning. Consider opening the headphones to view the audio components. Take note of any loose wires or other abnormalities. If possible try reconnect any loose wiring. If all appears to be in place and no visible damage, the audio board should be replaced. The device will not turn on and the power button will not flash to show headphones are discoverable.

Beats Solo 3 come with a micro USB charging cable. According to Apple, the headphones should take around 2 hours to fully charge.

The issue could be with the charging cable and not with the Beats Solo3. A new charging cord may need to be purchased.

Try to charge your Beats Solo3 headset with a charger you know is not faulty. If the Beats Solo3 headset will still not turn on or charge, the battery may need to be replaced.

Plug charger into charging port on Beats Solo3. If they do not charge, check to make sure the charging cable is working. Check to see if there are any visible damages to the charging cable. If so, the charging port may need to be replaced.

The device is not charging when it’s plugged in.

Make sure the adapter is plugged in and the light is on. If the light is not on while the adapter is plugged in, consider purchasing a new adapter.

If the adapter is plugged in, the light of the adapter is on and the charger is not charging, try to use another charger.

If the charger is not latching into the charging port, try to use another charger. If another charger is not working, the shape of the charging port could be damaged. Consider replacing the charging port. The steps for this can be found here.

Microphone does not pick up audio.

The microphone is located on the ear cup. Make sure there is no physical interference with it. You can also clean your Beats Solo3 with a dry cleaning cloth to ensure there is no dust or oil blocking the microphone.

It is possible that the internal audio board has been damaged resulting in the microphone to no longer function. Consider opening the headphones to view the audio components. Take note of any loose wires or other abnormalities. If possible try reconnect any loose wiring.
