Distorted Images on Screen
Incorrect Resolution
If you are experiencing distorted images on your screen, it may be because of incorrect resolution.
On the home screen, left-click the ASUS EeePC Tray Utility icon in the Notification area to adjust the display resolution. Select the resolution based on your computer activities and needs.
- Note: When your EEE PC is in CRT only and the power mode is Power Saving, you MUST AVOID using a resolution higher than 1024 x 600 pixels. Any resolution higher than this can result in the external monitor functioning abnormally.

If not, go on to the next step.
- Note: A driver is the special software that pieces of hardware, like video cards, use to communicate with your computer. They can sometimes become corrupted or too outdated and cause errors to appear on your screen if not replaced over time.
- Roll back the driver. Go back to the "Display adapter" from Step 2. Right-click on the video card's name. Left click on the "Properties" option that appears from the menu.
