Is your Arlo Pro 2 not powering on or will not stay charged for the advertised time? Use this troubleshooting guide to help diagnose why.
LED Light Indicators
The LED light on the cameras can indicate whether or not the camera is charging.
- Check the LED light when charging the cameras, if the light blinks amber for three seconds try wiping off any debris from the camera and battery connection ports.
Check Arlo App Or Website For Indicators
The Arlo app or site may have messages regarding battery issues.
- Check the Arlo app for any error messages indicating dysfunction with charging or battery.
- The error message should display as, “The charging source connected to the camera cannot charge your battery. Please use an Arlo power adapter.”
- Log into your Arlo account from the internet and check that the charger icon is displaying while charging.
If the charging icon does not display then it means the battery is not charging.
Battery Failure
The batteries in the Arlo Pro 2 may be broken and need replacement.
- Insert the battery into the camera before inserting the charger.
- Try using the same battery with a different camera.
- If the battery does not work with the other camera, it needs to be replaced.
If the battery works in another camera then the problem is with the camera.
Power Adapter Cable Dysfunction
The power cable can inhibit charging if it is faulty.
- Check if the charging cable is fully and securely inserted into the device.
- The power adapter must be fully inserted into the AC power adapter and the camera.
- Be sure to use the correct Arlo power adapter.
- Try charging a different camera with the same power adapter.
If the new camera charges then the charging issue is with the camera and not the cable.
Factory Reset Needed

- Press and hold the sync button for exactly 15 seconds.
- Watch the LED light, it will start blinking amber when the reset process is initiated.
