If you press the power button on your Anker Soundcore Boom 2 and the device does not power on, use this troubleshooting guide to get things working again.
Depleted Battery
The Boom 2 last battery life can up to 24 hours. If the battery is out of power, then the speaker won't power on.
When the speaker battery is low, the power button will have a red flashing light.
Plug the device in, using the Boom 2's designated USB-C cable connected to an outlet. Make sure that the charging cable you are using is plugged into a wall outlet and is not damaged or faulty. After plugging in the device, the red light will become steady and stop flashing.
When the battery reaches full charge, the light will turn white and remain steady.
If the battery has not charged after 6 hours of being plugged in, the battery itself may be faulty.
Faulty Battery
If the Boom 2 speaker won’t charge, then the issue might be with the battery. Over time, rechargeable batteries can degrade or become damaged. This causes the battery to lose its ability to uptake and hold a charge.
To check the integrity of the Boom 2’s battery, start by attempting to charge it with its designated power cable and outlet connector as described above. If the battery does not charge after 6 hours of being plugged in, power off the device and disconnect it from the charging cable.
If the battery is a problem, you can check and replace the battery following this replacement guide.
Faulty Button
If the Boom 2 speaker is fully charged but still won't turn on, then the issue might be caused by the power button itself.
Begin by cleaning the button, removing any debris or dirt that may be preventing it from functioning properly. Use a small sharp object like a toothpick to clean out the crease surrounding the button, being careful not to accidentally pry the button off.
Test the power button to see if the issue is resolved. If the button is still not functioning properly, it may be due to a fault in the button’s hardware that will require you to replace it.
Follow the guide here to see how to replace the buttons.
