Purchased 2 fire sticks and my remote quit working so my son paired his remote to my fire stick and it worked so, we knew it was the remote and you have to use it for settings the app won't work. After about 2 weeks later my son's remote now doesn't work for his fire stick. They both have Alexa on them and from other's feedback they are having the same problem. I am thinking about replacing ours with the remote that doesn't have Alexa, they seem to have less problems.

The white indicator light won't turn on, and this didn't help. Suspect that it has something to do with the fact that it was shipped in an envelope instead of a box.

I left my Amazon Firestick USB charger plugged into an electrical outlet when a lightning storm came through last week shutting power off/on at least 6 times during the night. Can it be reprogrammed?

My brand new Element 50 inch tv w/Amazon Fire TV built-in is having remote issues that I can’t seem to find anywhere online. The Power button and the Netflix, Amazon, and Amazon Music buttons all work, but the D-Pad and surrounding buttons are all dead (including the big select button). Tried replacing the batteries. Didn’t see any corrosion. Had the TV for literally six days. Anyone have any ideas?

Got a 50-inch Element Fire TV Edition for Christmas, and my remote control just crapped out on me in a weird way. The Power button, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Amazon Music buttons all work, but all the buttons surrounding the D-Pad and the D-Pad are nonfunctional. Set it up on Saturday, no problems. Not sure what to do, since holding the Select button is not working. Tried replacing the batteries, and same result. No weirdness inside on the connections, no spring malfunctions. Any ideas?

I found a fix for my remote after trying most of the suggestions here and not having any of them work.

Since I was out of other options, I unplugged the Fire TV, waited 10 seconds, then plugged it back in. I then pressed all six of the lower buttons of the remote together at once (return, home, menu, rewind, play, fast forward) and it instantly was recognized by the Fire TV and started working again!!!

I have been searching websites and trying things for two weeks, and never saw this suggestion anywhere.

Try this if you have run out of options. I’m back in business baby!

My Fire tv isn’t working either. I have the 1st generation box. My dog accidentally chewed up the remote. Could that possibly have anything to deal with the box not working properly to where only the “amazon” logo shows up. Is the white indicator light suppose to be flashing when it works properly or is it suppose to be off? How can I fix the issue with the box? Is there software that needs updated with the 1st generation box?

Hi I GOT A SOLUTION if the “Amazon” logo appears for a couple of seconds, then it says “no signal”, then the logo appears again for a couple of seconds, then it goes back to “no signal”, and so on… You have to make sure that your Amazon Fire Stick is connected using the original Amazon usb power adapter. I was just about to give up trying to make mine work until I tried changing the usb power adapter for the original one (I have the fire stick always connected directly to the tv, but the device poped up a message saying that the tv’s usb had not enough power for a software update that needed to be done, so I connected it to the wall using my old phone's usb power adapter wich made the problem start, but I never imagined that it was what was causing the problem)… After changing the usb power adapter the problem was instantly solved!

I’m having the same issue: I was watching my Amazon Fire TV (box - generation 1, I think) the other night when everything “hiccupped” for a second. When the show came back on - there was no sound. I tried turning everything off and back on - no luck. Gave up and went to bed. Next day, I restarted my modem. Amazon Fire TV came on, but still no sound!!! I turned everything off, unplugged my modem and unplugged the power to my Fire TV box. Reconnected everything and discovered that Amazon Fire TV would no longer come on at all - “No Signal”. If I unplug and plug in the Fire TV box, I will get a flash of “AMAZON” on the screen - then it goes dark and tells me there is no signal. The Fire TV box white light flashes slowly or flashes in response to the remote, but nothing else. I’ve tried replacing the HDMI cable, connecting the HDMI to different ports, etc, with no luck. Is there actually a solution to any of this or do I need to replace my Fire TV?

My TV recognizes the hdmi connection when I plug the power cord in on my fire stick. It changes to the hdmi2, but the screen is blank. The fire stick home screen doesn't pop up. Nothing is happening with the remote.

Thanks for the ideas. I purchased a couple low res tvs 720 and they would not show the startup screen. Using your suggestion, I hooked up to a hi res monitor to configure the account, and hookup to wifi. Then I hooked them up to the low res tvs and it worked like a charm. The firesticks actually have a auto res function AFTER you configure them for the first time.

Why does my fire stick stop when program goes to commercial?

I just reset my fire stick to factory default and now the remote won’t pair up with it. I’ve held the home button for various lengths of time, sometimes in combination with other buttons as I read that sometimes works but didn’t. My smartphone remote app doesn’t read the stick either. Any advice aside of purchasing a new one?

Cannot connect Fire tv box through an hdmi switcher. We have only one hdmi port on the tv so need to use a switcher but only get a blank screen from the Fire tv.

My fire will not let me select anything between home and settings. It moves to the end. If I try to scroll down to look for a movie it moves down the list at high speed and will not stop until it gets to the bottom. If I hit up if flies up at high speed and will not stop.

Fire tv has black screen and nothing helps. All I done was change out the power strip that the Fire tv was plugged into. Then it wouldn’t power on when used the remote. The TV started to work when first turned it on. Once it got to putting in the WiFi password it went completely black. Now it will not turn on at all. The red light is the only thing that turns off and on. I’ve tried every step described and haven’t found any resolution. The power button on the side of the TV works. Also, there’s not an HDMI cable, I’m not too sure what the cable is called to be honest. If anyone knows if anything to resolve this it’s much appreciated!

We have 2, 4k TVs which my fire TV box connects to with ease, we also have an LG TV 1080p but when the fire TV box is connected by one of the 3 hdmi ports the Amazon logo appears and a couple of seconds later my TV says no signal, I have tried everything I can think of and what I have read I have also done the various combinations on my fire TV remote which don't work, the remote does work with the 4k tvs. Any more ideas please.

How many Fire TV remotes just stop working? Do I have to purchase a new remote? I've done everything above, replace batterie, unplug, reset, etc., No light, no response from the stick which does work.

No signal. Tried disconnecting the power from the receiver, holding in the play button, holding in the play and select button at the same time, holding the select button, unplugging and replugging in the modem, etc. and still can’t get a signal. I don’t get a set-up screen on my tv - just a “no signal” flashing.

Had fire stick for a couple years now. Worked 100% fine until yesterday. Suddenly wouldn’t come on.

-tested on two separate tvs, one old one new

-replaced batteries with brand new ones

-tested hdmi connector (held pressure, adjusted angle, etc)

-tested microusb port (same as with hdmi)

-tested several different outlets with and without surge protector

-tested USB port on box

-tested with several cords, some new, some known to be in 100% working condition.

-tested with several boxes, same as with cord.

-left fire stick unplugged to reset device, first for a few seconds, then a few minutes, then over an hour, then overnight.

-tested multiple hdmi ports on tv most recently used

-checked connectors for all components, none appear to be damaged or dirty

Cannot think of anything else tried. Are there any known causes of one of these just suddenly dying? I went ahead and ordered a new one a few minutes ago and will get it in the morning, but I’d prefer to figure out what happened rather than just throw this one out.

Now I know why the price is so low. Amazon and Best Buy want to get rid of these pieces of crap. I recently bought a 50 inch and it works reasonably well so we bought a smaller 43 inch. It has been a pain in the hind end since day one. We screwed up and waited the full thirty days before trying to make a return. We were told “to bad, you loose.” The reply also said it must be returned in the original packaging. Right, who keeps the %#*@ packaging for a month? Piece of crap! Thanks Amazon, thanks Best Buy. Ultimately a couple of times I have had to go on to the Amazon site and deregister the TV (I have configured about 20 off these).

The biggest source of issues is Batteries! Make sure they are BRAND NEW TOP QUALITY or you will find yourself doing everything but that beforehand. Sometimes when pushing the house key down doesnt work…..pull the power cord. Take the batteries out. Start the TV adn when you see the 3 dots rolling on the screen stick the batteries in…

I installed a Fire TV in my classroom. I used a hdmi cable (as normal) to hook my computer and document camera to the TV. Neither works!

I did get my computer screen to show on the TV; However, no icons show. I cannot use my document camera with this TV!

I have a FireTV 2nd Gen (square metal box) it's stuck in a "Optimizing system storage and aplications..." mode.

I tried a known good working power supply from my other FireTV 2nd Gen as well as a different A.C. outlet with no luck

Are there any known fixes? I tried a USB Keyboard method used on Firesticks by holding the CNRL +ALT+MENU+PRTSCRN+I

at boot up but it never went into Safe Mode. I real like this box and even if I have to reset it to factory I would just to get it working

Tv is on sound is on but tv has a black screen

Came home to my tv and cube still plugged in from last night in my bedroom. I selected the on button from my remote and the tv turned on to no signal. I pressed the manual on button and it chimed at me but did not turn on. I then unplugged the until waiting at least ten second before plugging back in the power source. No change occurred. I unplugged the hdmi cord and power for a second attempt and heard the fire cube song only to have the cube still turn off and the front of the unit while attempting to turn on flashes blue then blinks three times. Then shuts off. I just bought this at Christmas time so everything is practically brand new. Uggh

never touched a think on the back or front. Worked at 1:oo am, not at 4:pm only get one HDMI possibility and it is the tv main screen. Stellite nor firestick ports appear to be operative.

After unplugging it waiting and plugging it back in the Amazon fire tv starts up and stayes on the Amazon logo screen. cant get it to move on.

If You are having issues with external gaming consoles, I found no real help online. 3rd party cloud apps didn't create a good user experience. My LAST resort before returning the TV was to upgrade my HDMI cable... Yes, just a 4k HDMI cable and it worked!! Read countless sites, 10 diff ways to try and connect and it was a cable.. hope this helps someone.

Trued to return it but Amazon would not since I didn't have the box. Again it was brand new.

Problem is I was watching TV and the screen froze. Thinking it was the internet I waited looking at a still $@$* if Andy Griffith.

It's Amazon way of saying, time to "upgrade" just like cellphone companies do to their customers especially, Apple.

My Element model ELEFC461 TV seems to have all sorts of issues with the Firestick like having the stick hang up and refuse to turn on if you don't shut things off in exactly the right order and often coming on without sound until you turn the TV off and back on. It's a daily frustration to get it to work and now the sound isn't coming in right and I have to crank up the TV volume to hear it. So, I unplug the stick from power and HDMI and I try rebooting it to factory specs and it kind of works a bit longer. I also notice that when they update their software, new problems show up. I had to replace my Firestick before when the made the older model software obsolete and it seems like they are trying to force me to by a new TV. Planned obsolescence comes to mind.

One channel without any sound, how do I fix this

My image on my tv is all scrambled and I fear the motherboard is of substandard parts. Sadly this tv was purchased while flying the friendly sky’s on an Ambian that I was told by my doctor won’t make me do weird stuff if taken. Haha the jokes on me.
