Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues
Wi-Fi is disconnecting frequently or isn't working at all.
Loss of Wi-Fi Connectivity
Check your Wi-Fi signal if your speed or connectivity is slow. One bar means you are getting the minimum while having all bars means your connectivity is great. For greater access to the Wi-Fi, it is best to either move the device closer to the router, which connects to the internet, or to stay in one location where the Wi-Fi is constant and less prone to drop.
Wi-Fi won't connect at all
If you are unable to connect to the Wi-Fi at all, then try to connect to a static IP address instead of the DNS (Domain Name System). Set up your tablet to connect with your router using a Static IP that is outside the range of IP addresses your router assigns using DNS. You will need to go into your router's firmware to see the range of address assigned using DNS and assign one to the tablet outside of that range.
4.4.2 Android KitKat System Update Problems
The Android's system update of version 4.4.2 KitKat may interfere with some of your apps, settings, and interface, which may result in some malfunction with the Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Go to Settings and select Location, into Mode
- Select High Accuracy
- Return to Settings, and press Wi-Fi, into Advanced (which can be found in the menu by tapping the button the top right)
- Uncheck Wi-Fi Optimization
Screen Not Displaying
The screen display is not working properly.
Tablet Won't Start
You should try to hold the power on/off button of the tablet, located on the top of the device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up button, which is located closest to the touchscreen lock switch.
- While holding the Volume Up button, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds then release it.
- Continue holding the Volume Up button until the tablet screen turns on.
Contact Acer Support if it still won't turn on.
Black Screen
Hold your power button to see if it will turn on. If it is vibrating and does nothing, charge it for a few hours or overnight. Test the power button again and if still doesn't turn on, contact your local Acer service center.
When Waking from Sleep Mode
After you wake it up from sleep mode, restart the tablet to re-activate the touchscreen. This problem may occur when sleeping on the device overnight.
Screen Flickering
If your screen is flickering, you may want to do a factory reset.
If it is still flickering, you may want to contact your local Acer service center.
Screen Sensitivity Problems
The screen will not respond to my touch.
Low Sensitivity
If you need to press too firmly to start apps or drag them around, you may want to purchase a stylus to increase the sensitivity with ease.
Screen is Unresponsive to "Touch and Hold"
Check "settings", then "accessibility" to make sure you have a "short" touch setting selected.
Update the Device
You may want to update your device since the system's updates can resolve and fix this issue. If updates are not available on your device, restart your device to refresh.
Android Update Problems
The updates are giving me a rough time.
Use an Older Version of Android
If the update you are using right now is not cooperating, you can always get rid of the current update and go back using an older one.
Sound Problem
If you are experiencing sound issues with all music players from the KitKat update, downgrade the update to the previous one.
Cannot get Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update
If you are unable to update your system to the recent one, it may be unavailable in your country at this time, so be patient for now until it is released.
Camera Icon Response
The camera button isn't functioning or it's unresponsive on my screen.
Factory Reset
If the camera icon on the screen isn't working properly, doing the factory reset, which resets your whole device, allows you to start fresh on the device.
- Power off your device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up button, which is located closest to the touchscreen lock switch.
- While holding the Volume Up button, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds then release it.
- Continue holding the Volume Up button until your device turns on.
- On the Android system recovery screen, select Wipe data/factory reset.
- Use the Volume Up and Volume Down keys to navigate through the menus and use the Power button to select the desired option.
- When prompted to "Confirm wipe of all user data", select Yes -- delete all user data. Finally select Reboot system now.
Once your device reboots to the Welcome screen, follow the onscreen steps to setup your device.
Camera Application Not Working
If your camera isn't working at all, you must contact your local Acer service support.
However, you can download another camera application like Google camera from Google play: Link to Google Camera App
