If your Acer Chromebook CB0311-1H-C1MX doesn't power on and nothing happens when you press the power button, follow this page for solutions.
Battery Discharged
If the computer is not turning on and shows a black screen when buttons are pressed, the battery may be dead.
- If a 3rd party charger, it needs at least 30W of power.
- Plug the Chromebook into a power source using its charging cable.
If the charger is functional but the power/battery-status light does not turn on at all, there is likely a problem with either the port(s), battery, or motherboard.
Faulty USB-C Port
The sole USB-C Port is used to charge the Chromebook and has an LED indicator light. If the device does not charge and/or the indicator light does not turn on when plugged into a power source, then there may be an issue with the USB-C port.
- Use a flashlight to inspect the port for any bent pins, dirt/debris, or corrosion.
- Wiggle the charging cable a bit to see if you can make a connection. If the charger only provides power when the adapter is in a specific position, replace the port.
Frozen Screen
Computer screen may freeze or turn black and appear unresponsive.
Restarting Chromebook may fix this issue.
- Unplug device from all external power sources, press the power button located in the upper righthand corner of the keyboard and hold for 10 seconds
