Failure to Connect with Internet
Your device will not connect to the internet.
Connection Needs a Reset
Turn your device on and off, and if turning your device off and then back on didn’t work, then to reset your internet settings, go into the Device Manager in settings and under the Network Adaptors section find Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless SDIO Adapter. If it is disabled, enable it. If it is not, then disable and then re-enable it. If you do not connect to the internet immediately then restart the Transformer Book.
Airplane Mode may be Enabled
Go into the settings and make sure that the Wifi is enabled. Then check to see if Airplane Mode is enabled. If it is enabled, then disable it. If not, enable and then disable it. This should reset the setting and allow you to access the internet.
Failure to Power On
The device will not turn on.
Bad Battery
If you are unable to get your device to power on it may be caused by a bad battery. This could be due to a number of causes: manufacturing error, overcharging, and simply the age of the battery, as batteries that are two-years-old or older, lose their charge quicker than new ones. If this is the case then the only solution would be toreplace the battery.
Charging Port Broken
If you are able to wiggle the charger while it is in the port, your port may be damaged. This will cause your device to charge improperly, causing it not to turn on. You will need to replace the charging port if this is the case.
Unresponsive Keyboard
The keyboard doesn’t respond to commands.
Keyboard not Connecting to Laptop
If the keyboard isn’t working, your connecting pieces may be broken. See if you notice any pieces that are broken or missing, and if so, you will need to replace the broken hinge.
Broken Keyboard
Restart your device, and if restarting your device isn’t working, then hook up an external keyboard to your device. If that keyboard works, then your current keyboard may be damaged, causing it not to function properly. If this is the case then you will need to either repair or replace your keyboard.
Unresponsive Screen
Screen won’t respond to touch.
Restart Tablet
Press and hold the Power Button for 10 seconds to restart the device. This should reset the screen and make it responsive.
Factory Reset
If a regular restart to the tablet was not enough to get the screen to respond, it may need a factory reset. If your screen is completely unresponsive then you will need to do the reset in the following manner. First, power off the Eee Pad. Then hold the Volume Down and Power buttons until a green Android screen appears. Use the volume buttons to get to Recovery Mode and use the Power Button to make the selection. A screen should now appear that says “No Command.” Press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons. If done correctly, a new menu screen should appear. Use the volume buttons to get to “Wipe Data/Factory Reset” and use the Power Button to make the selection. Use the volume buttons to get to “Yes-Delete All User Data” and use the Power Button to make the selection. This should reset the Transformer Book.
If your screen is occasionally unresponsive (but are still able to access settings) then you may do the reset in the following manner. Open up Settings and select “Backup and Reset.” Then choose and select “Factory Data Reset”. This should reset the Transformer Book.
Broken Screen
If neither of the previous solutions helped, then your screen is likely broken as this would cause it to be unresponsive. For this you will need to replace your screen.
Quick Dying Battery
Battery dies faster than it should.
Check Battery Settings
If your device is dying quicker than what you think it should, then you should go into your settings and find the battery section and select it. You should see a section about battery life- in the section, select that and it will take you to a list of apps and the amount of battery life they consume. Delete the apps that you do not use and that should help improve your battery life.
Bad Battery
If your battery is dying quickly, it could be caused by a bad battery. This could be due to a number of causes: manufacturing error, overcharging, and simply the age of the battery, as batteries that are two-years-old or older, lose their charge quicker than new ones. If this is the case then the only solution would be to replace the battery.
