If pressing the buttons or joystick doesn’t cause any response on screen, follow this troubleshooting guide for possible solutions.
Dead Battery
If none of the buttons respond, the battery might have completely run out of power. Try charging your controller and if it still doesn't work, follow this guide to replace the battery.
Damaged Analog Joystick
The joystick doesn’t click and drags during gameplay. If the joystick is not responding, first make sure the joystick is clean. Use isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab to clean the area. If these problems continue, go to the settings on the console and make sure that the joysticks are calibrated. If the joystick is still not functioning, make sure the joystick cover does not have any physical damage. Faulty Buttons
The buttons do not give a response. This could be caused by the buttons becoming stuck. You will need to remove the buttons, adjust the pad underneath where the buttons go, and reattach the buttons to their pads. To access the buttons, follow the ASUS ROG Raikiri Pro Case replacement guide.
Defective Charging Port
If the battery is still working but you're unable to charge it, the charging port could be dirty or damaged and you're unable to charge the controller. This guide is for a different device but has excellent instructions for cleaning the charging port. If you've cleaned it and it's still not working, it may be damaged or defective and it will need to be replaced. Since the charging port is soldered to the motherboard, you will need to replace it following the motherboard replacement guide. If you would like to use your soldering skills, you can replace the charging port once you've removed the motherboard from the controller.
