Released in August of 2010, the Droid 2 replaced the original Motorola Droid. Key upgrades in the new model are a sleeker design and a revised keyboard layout that omits the large, gold D-pad panel. The Droid 2 features a 3.7" WVGA display, a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, and shipped running Android 2.2 (Froyo). A special edition R2D2 version was launched, as well as a globally-capable Droid 2 Global model. In July 2011, the Droid 2 was replaced by the Droid 3.
