I attempted to turn on my PS3 but it immediately would turn off and the indicator light would turn green. This occurs when the heat paste and solder on the motherboard gets old and cracks due to use and age.

I followed the guide and had no problem completing the repair. The one minor issue that I ran into was that my PS3 was a slightly older model and the motherboard assembly would not separate from the lower case due to a screw hidden under the motherboard. I instead had to leave the two piece attached and remove the motherboard by itself. I also noticed that since it was a different model I did not need as many of the heat pads.

If your model is slightly different than the guide don't worry most of the main components are the same, there are just a few screws that may be different.
