Siamo passati a chiamare "asimmetrica" la ventola all'interno del MacBook Air da 13" versione metà 2012, ma rispetto alla ventola all'interno di questo MacBook Pro, quella dell'Air è certamente più regolare.

In teoria, la simmetria distribuisce il rumore prodotto dalla ventola su frequenze multiple, rendendolo meno avvertibile.

Questa ventola è stata citata in quasi tutto ciò che è stato scritto sul MacBook Pro con il Retina display. Ci sorprende notare quanta attenzione è stata riservata a un piccolo cambiamento nello spazio tra le pale. È però la dimostrazione dell'attenzione di Apple a piccoli dettagli snobbati dalla concorrenza che gioca a favore dell'utente finale.
