Optional: Test the disassembled unit. First, connect the Wi-Fi daughterboard. Connect the two screens, excluding the digitizer. While holding the battery in place, turn on the unit. Be cautious if you have removed any insulating material and there is new exposed metal. It is possible to blow a fuse or cause worse damage.
