  • Remove the orange dipstick from under your hood.

  • Wipe the dipstick down with a rag or towel to ensure that you get a true reading.

  • Reinsert the dipstick all the way into its hole, then remove it.

  • The amount of oil on your dipstick determines the oil level. The top of the crosshatched area is the maximum amount of oil you should have, while the bottom of the crosshatching is the minimum.

  • Our oil level appears to be a little high. However, oil has not yet had time to seep into the nooks and crannies of the engine. Start the engine and let it idle for a minute. Turn the engine off and look underneath for leaks. Check the oil again. Now the filter is full of oil, the level should be close to the full mark on the dipstick.

Verwijder de oranje peilstok die je onder de motorkap vindt.

Maak het uiteinde van de peilstok schoon met een doek om ervoor te zorgen dat je een accurate meting krijgt.

Plaats je peilstok in z'n geheel terug in het gat en verwijder deze vervolgens weer.

De hoeveelheid olie op je peilstok geeft het olielevel aan. De bovenkant van het ingedeukte deel is de maximumhoeveelheid olie die je in je motor moet gooien; de onderkant is de minimale hoeveelheid.

Het oliepeil lijkt wat aan de hoge kant, maar de olie heeft ook nog geen tijd gehad om in alle hoeken en kieren van de motor te lopen. Start de motor en laat deze een aantal minuten stationair draaien. Zet de motor uit en check of er lekkages zijn. Check het oliepeil nog eens. Nu het filter vol met olie zit, zou het oliepeil goed moeten zijn.
