  • Place a jack at the jacking point at the front passenger side on the pinch weld, the thicker metal part just behind the front wheel.

  • Use the jack to lift the passenger side of the car until you have enough room to work under the car comfortably.

  • Alternatively, you may drive the front of the car onto wheel ramps. If you do this, be sure to chock the rear wheels.

  • To make your oil change easier, you may consider jacking the car up as high as it will go.

Plaats een krik op het krikpunt aan de bestuurderszijde aan de voorkant van de auto. Het krikpunt is het punt waar meerdere metalen onderdelen van het chassis samenkomen. Plaats de krik onder het dikkere metalen deel net achter het voorwiel.

Gebruik de krik om bestuurderszijde van de auto omhoog te tillen tot je genoeg ruimte hebt om comfortabel onder de auto te kunnen werken.

Als alternatief kun je de voorwielen van je wagen ook op blokken rijden, maar zorg in dat geval wel dat je de achterwielen goed blokt door de auto in de versnelling te zetten, de handrem erop te zetten en/of blokken achter de achterwielen te leggen.

Om het vervangen van de olie te vergemakkelijken, is het een mogelijkheid om de auto zo ver omhoog te krikken als je krik het toelaat.
