Strip off the cover

  • Place about a quarter of an inch of the cable into the stripping end of the tool.

  • Squeeze the handles of the tools together until the tool clicks and then release.

  • Pull the stripped wire cover from the cable with your fingers.

  • If your wire cutter does not have a side specifically for stripping wires, you can simply use the wire cutting part but not squeeze the handles all the way down, so that it only cuts the outer casing of the cable.

  • When you have successfully completed this step, the cable should appear similar to the third photo of this step.

  • If you have shielded cable above Cat.5e you might want to follow this guide for stripping.

Verwijder de isolatie

Plaats ongeveer 2,5 cm van de kabel in het stripuiteinde van het gereedschap.

Knijp de handgrepen van het gereedschap samen tot het gereedschap klikt en laat vervolgens los.

Trek met uw vingers de gestripte isolatie van de kabel.

Als je draadknipper geen zijde heeft die specifiek bedoeld is voor het strippen van draden, kun je gewoon het draadknipgedeelte gebruiken, maar de handgrepen niet helemaal naar beneden knijpen, zodat alleen de buitenmantel van de kabel wordt doorgesneden.

Wanneer je deze stap met succes hebt voltooid, zou de kabel er ongeveer zo uit moeten zien als op de derde foto van deze stap.
