Strip off the cover

  • Place about a quarter of an inch of the cable into the stripping end of the tool.

  • Squeeze the handles of the tools together until the tool clicks and then release.

  • Pull the stripped wire cover from the cable with your fingers.

  • If your wire cutter does not have a side specifically for stripping wires, you can simply use the wire cutting part but not squeeze the handles all the way down, so that it only cuts the outer casing of the cable.

  • When you have successfully completed this step, the cable should appear similar to the third photo of this step.

  • If you have shielded cable above Cat.5e you might want to follow this guide for stripping.

Spela la copertura

Posiziona circa 6 mm del cavo nella parte spela fili dello strumento.

Schiaccia i manici dello strumento uno contro l'altro fino a che lo strumento scatta, quindi lasciali.

Tira la copertura del cavo da spelare con le dita.

Se il tuo strumento non ha la parte per spelare i fili, puoi usare la parte per tagliarli ma senza schiacciare fino in fondo i manici, in modo che tagli solo la copertura esterna del cavo.

Quando hai completato questo passaggio, il cavo dovrebbe essere come mostrato nella seconda immagine.
