Strip off the cover

  • Place about a quarter of an inch of the cable into the stripping end of the tool.

  • Squeeze the handles of the tools together until the tool clicks and then release.

  • Pull the stripped wire cover from the cable with your fingers.

  • If your wire cutter does not have a side specifically for stripping wires, you can simply use the wire cutting part but not squeeze the handles all the way down, so that it only cuts the outer casing of the cable.

  • When you have successfully completed this step, the cable should appear similar to the third photo of this step.

  • If you have shielded cable above Cat.5e you might want to follow this guide for stripping.

Retirer la gaine

Placez environ 6mm de câble dans l'extrémité à dénuder de l'outil.

Serrez les poignées de l'outil jusqu'à ce qu'il s'enclenche, puis relâchez-les.

Tirer avec les doigts la gaine du fil dénudé du câble.

Si votre pince coupante n'a pas de côté spécifique pour dénuder les fils, vous pouvez simplement utiliser la partie qui coupe les fils, mais sans serrer les poignées jusqu'au bout, de sorte qu'elle ne coupe que la gaine extérieure du câble.

Une fois cette étape terminée, le câble doit ressembler à la troisième photo de cette étape.
