Strip off the cover

  • Place about a quarter of an inch of the cable into the stripping end of the tool.

  • Squeeze the handles of the tools together until the tool clicks and then release.

  • Pull the stripped wire cover from the cable with your fingers.

  • If your wire cutter does not have a side specifically for stripping wires, you can simply use the wire cutting part but not squeeze the handles all the way down, so that it only cuts the outer casing of the cable.

  • When you have successfully completed this step, the cable should appear similar to the third photo of this step.

  • If you have shielded cable above Cat.5e you might want to follow this guide for stripping.

Quitar la cubierta

Coloca aproximadamente un cuarto de pulgada del cable en el extremo de pelado de la herramienta.

Aprieta los mangos de las herramientas hasta que la herramienta haga clic y luego suelta.

Tire de la cubierta del cable pelado desde el cable con los dedos.

Si tu cortador de alambre no tiene un lado específico para pelar cables, simplemente puedes usar la parte de corte de alambre pero no apretar las manijas completamente hacia abajo, de modo que solo cortes la cubierta exterior del cable.

Cuando hayas completado con éxito este paso, el cable debería aparecer similar a la tercera foto de este paso.
