Strip off the cover

  • Place about a quarter of an inch of the cable into the stripping end of the tool.

  • Squeeze the handles of the tools together until the tool clicks and then release.

  • Pull the stripped wire cover from the cable with your fingers.

  • If your wire cutter does not have a side specifically for stripping wires, you can simply use the wire cutting part but not squeeze the handles all the way down, so that it only cuts the outer casing of the cable.

  • When you have successfully completed this step, the cable should appear similar to the third photo of this step.

  • If you have shielded cable above Cat.5e you might want to follow this guide for stripping.

Äußere Hülle abisolieren

Lege das Kabel so, dass etwa 7 mm über die Abisolierschneiden überstehen.

Drücke die Griffe des Werkzeuges zusammen, bis es klickt, lasse dann wieder los.

Ziehe den abgeschnittenen Teil der Kabelhülle mit den Fingern ab.

Wenn dein Werkzeug keine spezielle Schneiden zum Abisolieren hat, kannst du auch mit dem Abschneider arbeiten, darfst aber die Griffe dabei nicht ganz zusammendrücken, so dass nur die äußere Hülle abgeschnitten wird.

Das Kabel sollte dann so, wie im dritten Bild aussehen.
