Disassemble the old wiper

  • You'll need pliers and a flat blade screwdriver for this operation. The typical beam style wiper is held by two metal ribs held stiff with plastic end caps. Pictured here is a Vaelo R-13B rear wiper.

  • Squeeze the metal ribs just before the end caps, then pull off the end caps. If they won't go, then tear out the old rubber first to loosen things up, and try again.

  • Stop removing parts as soon as you can slide the rubber out: it may take just one end cap.

Demonteer de oude ruitenwisser

Voor deze handeling heb je een tang en een platte schroevendraaier nodig. De typische ruitenwisser wordt vastgehouden door twee metalen ribben die vast worden gehouden met plastic eindkappen. Hier afgebeeld is een Vaelo R-13B achterruitenwisser.

Knijp de metalen ribben vlak voor de einddoppen samen en trek de einddoppen eraf. Als ze niet gaan, scheur dan eerst het oude rubber eruit om de boel los te maken en probeer het opnieuw.

Stop met het verwijderen van onderdelen zodra je het rubber eruit kunt schuiven: er is misschien maar één einddop nodig.
