    The motors on W123 cars are supported in the front by a pair of rubber motor mounts. The mounts attach the motor to the frame of the car while buffering the motor to prevent excess vibration from being felt by the driver.
    When these mounts begin to compress and soften, with age and with deterioration from exposure to fluid leaks, increased vibration will be felt in the car. In addition, the motor will ride lower in the engine compartment and, in time, will lower to the point where the accessory belts may rub against critical parts like the oil cooler lines. This can lead to a leak in the line, loss of oil, and eventually catastrophic engine failure.
    So as you can see, the mounts play a critical role in the operation of a W123. Replace your worn mounts early, before trouble starts.
    Make sure to loosen the bolts holding the engine stop begin the oil pan
    in order to insert the new engine mount

      Pour retirer vos supports de moteur, vous devrez soulever et soutenir votre moteur avec un cric-bouteille.

      Ce boulon à tête Allen est sujet au dénudage ; c'est-à-dire que la douille Allen arrondit le centre du boulon afin qu'il ne puisse pas être retiré avec une douille Allen ordinaire.

      Retirez l'écrou inférieur de 10 mm de vos amortisseurs moteur afin que l'amortisseur puisse monter lorsque vous soulevez le moteur.

      Placez votre cric-bouteille sous le carter d'huile et placez un morceau de bois large et épais entre le cric-bouteille et le carter d'huile pour répartir le poids du moteur.

      Retirez les deux boulons Allen qui fixent chaque support moteur au châssis de la voiture. Ce sont des boulons à tête Allen de 6 mm.

      Soulevez un peu plus votre moteur pour dégager complètement les supports de moteur. Assurez-vous de ne pas soulever le moteur trop haut - veillez à ne pas sertir de conduites de chauffage ou d'autres éléments sur le pare-feu derrière le moteur.
