  • Remove the first cap that is leaking. In this picture, it is the fuel cap.

  • Using a flat blade screwdriver, gently lift the old seal out. In the case of the old black fuel seal pictured, it was very brittle; it had become about as flexible as plastic instead of rubber.

  • Install the new seal, stretching it around the two metal tabs that extend out of the center of the cap.

  • Repeat with the next cap, in this case the metal oil cap. That seal was still fairly soft, and was not leaking on this car, but was replaced as preventative maintenance.

Retirez le premier bouchon qui fuit. Sur cette photo, il s'agit du bouchon du réservoir.

À l'aide d'un tournevis à lame plate, soulevez délicatement l'ancien joint. Dans le cas du vieux joint de carburant noir illustré sur la photo, il était très fragile ; il était devenu aussi flexible que le plastique au lieu du caoutchouc.

Installez le nouveau joint en l'étirant autour des deux languettes métalliques qui dépassent du centre du capuchon.

Répétez avec le bouchon suivant, dans ce cas le bouchon d'huile en métal. Ce joint était encore assez mou et ne fuyait pas sur cette voiture, mais a été remplacé à titre d'entretien préventif.
