  • Starting at one end of the seam, match the corners and pin them together.

  • Work your way down the edge to be sewn, pinning the two pieces of fabric together.

  • The closer the pins are, the more stable their hold will be. However, you will have to stop to remove each pin as you sew. For a beginner's skill level, space the pins an inch or two apart.

  • Continue until you've pinned the two pieces of fabric from corner to corner.

Iniziando da un'estremità della cucitura, far combaciare gli angoli e fissarli con uno spillo.

Avanzare lungo il bordo che si intende cucire fissando i due lembi di tessuto con gli spilli.

Più spilli si usano, più fissi rimarranno i due strati di tessuto, ma è bene considerare che durante la cucitura bisognerà fermarsi in corrispondenza di ogni spillo e rimuoverlo. Se si è alle prime esperienze di cucito, è meglio lasciare 2,5 o 5 cm tra uno spillo e l'altro.

Continuare fino a fissare con gli spilli l'intera lunghezza dei due lembi di tessuto, da un angolo all'altro.
