Prepare the camera and work area

Prepare an ESD safe work area. Remove the lens, battery, memory cards, and grip. Install a body cap to prevent dust from entering the body.
This repair involves a lot of screws that are different lengths and thread types. A magnetic project mat is highly recommended for this repair. A screw in the wrong hole can strip, break off, or damage other camera internals.
