SKILL: Breaking a slider

Application - A slider that's fully stuck and can't move up or down due to corrosion, caught fabric, or damage should be forcibly broken and removed to prevent further damage to the zipper tape and any snagged fabric.
This technique uses two pairs of needle-nose vice grips to break the top and bottom of the slider away from the "diamond" that holds them together, so the slider releases from the zipper teeth.
