TECHNIQUE: Isolating zipper teeth damage - Separating zippers

  • Issue - There's tooth or tape damage on a separating zipper.

  • Technique #1 - Isolate damage on the bottom half of the zipper.

  • Move the slider to sit above the damage. Apply a coil top stop above and below the damaged area, connecting both sides of the zipper. The jacket is now a half-zip pullover!

  • This technique can also work when the zipper box or pin are damaged.

  • Technique #2 - Isolate damage on the top half of the zipper.

  • Move the slider to sit below the damage. Apply two coil top stops to the zipper at the damaged area, one on each side of the zipper tape. The jacket will still zip, just not all the way up.

  • This technique is the quick fix alternative to a Zipper Line Replacement.

Techniek: het isoleren van schade aan de ritstanden van een deelbare rits

Probleem: Er is schade aan de ritstanden of ritsband van een deelbare rits.

Techniek 1: Isoleer de schade in de onderste helft van de ritsband.

Schuif de sluiter zodat deze boven de schade zit. Plaats een bovenste stopper voor spiraalritsen boven en onder het beschadigde deel van de ritsband. Je jas is nu een soort anorakjas.

Deze techniek kun je ook gebruiken als de onderste stopper of pin beschadigd zijn.

Techniek 2: Isoleer de schade in de bovenste helft van de rits.

Schuif de sluiter tot onder de schade. Plaats twee bovenste stoppers voor spiraalritsen op de plek van de schade, een aan iedere zijde van de ritsband. Nu gaat je jas nog wel dicht, maar niet meer helemaal.

Deze techniek vormt een snel alternatief voor het in z'n geheel vervangen van de rits.
