Measure and cut the new drawcord

  • If the drawcord isn't stretched out or missing any part, use the old drawcord as a reference to measure and cut the appropriate length for a new one.

  • Alternatively, to measure and cut a new drawcord without the old one:

  • Measure the length of the hem.

  • Add the distance the cord travels to and from any cord locks.

  • Add 2 inches (~51 mm) to account for a 1 inch (~25 mm) seam allowance on each end.

  • Add an additional 1 inch (~25 mm) if the drawcord end knots were cut in Step 2.

  • Use a lighter to singe the cut ends of the drawcord.

  • Discard broken pieces responsibly.

Meet het nieuwe koord en knip deze op de juiste lengte

Als het oude koord nog intact is en niet te veel is uitgerekt, kun je die als maatstaaf nemen voor de lengte van het nieuwe koord.

Je kunt de lengte ook bepalen met behulp van deze methode:

Meet de lengte van de zoom.

Voeg daarbij de afstand die het koord aflegt naar en van de koordsluitingen.

Voeg nog eens 5 cm (2 inches) toe voor een einde van 2,5 cm (1 inch) aan beide uiteinden.

Reken nog eens 2,5 cm (1 inch) extra als je de knopen in stap 2 hebt afgeknipt in plaats van hebt losgemaakt.

Gebruik een aansteker om de afgeknipte einden van het koord dicht te branden.

Gooi de kapotte onderdelen weg in de daarvoor bestemde afvalbak.
