Separate the cable adhesive

A strong strip of adhesive secures the Surface Connect port cable to the top of the fan. Heating the cable softens the adhesive, making it easier to separate.
Heat an iOpener and lay it on the Surface Connect port cable for two minutes to soften the adhesive.
Alternatively, you can use a hair dryer or heat gun. But be careful, as extreme heat can damage the battery.
